 How do I buy a Tokyo Disney Disability pass?

You can only buy a Tokyo Disneyland disability entrance ticket at the official Tokyo Disney Resort website or at an official Tokyo Disney Hotel ticket counter.

Where should I buy our other Tokyo Disney Tickets?

You can buy non-disability standard entrance tickets for the rest of your family or friends online also on the official website, or at the official third party discount seller Klook.

How do I enter Disneyland or DisneySea with my Disability ticket?

After buying your Disney entrance tickets, upon arrival at the Tokyo Disney park  produce your ticket barcode on your mobile phone or paper ticket.
You will need to produce proof of your disability to enter.

You will still need to Register inside the park at your first ride.

(Make sure all members of your party who may wish to ride with you – up to five people – are also present so they can also be noted as your ride group)

Are Tokyo Disney Resort disability tickets cheaper?

Yes, Tokyo Disney Resort Disability one day passes are cheaper than standard one day passes. They are around AUD$25 and USD$11 cheaper than standard Tokyo Disneyland day passes, or roughly 20% cheaper.

Your accompanying Carer can also buy a disability one day pass. Only one accompanying person may buy a disabled pass per disabled pass visitor.

What certificate or paperwork do I need to prove I am disabled?

There isn’t a great deal of information, other than eligible certificates should be a “certificate for” their disability, including physical, developmental (neurodiverse such as Autism / ASD and ADHD), neurological, cognitive and intellectual / mental disabilities.
This implies official-issued documents such as government documents.

That said, there are numerous incidences of NDIS or Doctors letters that are accepted as proof for DAS at Tokyo Disneyland.

Australian Compaion & Carers Cards

Australian NSW Companion Cards and even Carers pension cards would have a strong case, particularly if they include a photograph. This is because they are issued by the state or federal governments.

What disability proof worked for us:

NDIS original paperwork for Australians carries weight – state that it is a government document.

Bring an accompanying doctor’s letter on their letterhead stating queuing may be difficult/not possible. MOST LIKELY this alone will work.

I asked a Cast Member if you can try to register with just a doctors letter and was met with some doubt. It can depend on who you register with!

Any kind of carers card, Australian Companion Card or pass with a photo would also be helpful.

UK Blue Cards

UK Blue Cards have been used with success due to them being a government issued identification card with photograph.

Japan has a photo pass system and may assume other countries do also. Explain that your government doesn’t issue the same.

Personally, if I only had a doctor’s letter as proof I would buy a regular Park entrance ticket and not a Disability entrance ticket – just in case the doctor’s letter is rejected as not enough proof (so that you don’t risk losing your entry ticket).

Do I need to take original certificates or can I take photocopies or digital scans?

Only take originals, as copies probably won’t be accepted. Officially they must be originals.

You should always carry your passport in Japan – it’s the law for tourists.

For Disney Disability Registration, you should bring photo id (so, your passport for example) if there is no photo id on your disability certificate or other proof – they probably won’t check it, but just in case.

Do I need to supply a Japanese translation of my disability certificate or medical letter?

No. Most don’t. There doesn’t seem to be a requirement for Japanese translations as then this would be a copy, so not admissable as proof.

That said, if my only documentation was a doctor’s letter, a translation may help strengthen your claim.

Can I buy Tokyo Disney multi-day disability tickets?

No. Disability tickets are one day passes only.

Is there Tokyo Disney Resort disabled ride access if I have already bought a standard ticket?

Yes. This is called the Disability Access Service pass. You can add this to your standard park access ticket by registering for the Disability Access Service add-on after you enter the park.

This is obtained by presenting a disability certificate or other acceptable documentation (see above) to one of several park locations, including any ride operator for your first ride. They will register you, your carer and your other group (family) members in the system width you so you can all ride together.

After you have registered for the first time you don’t need to do this process again that day. You can just request your DAS ride return time from ride operators at each ride.

Here are the Tokyo Disney Resort Disability Access Service registration locations:

At Tokyo Disneyland:

• All rides and attractions
• Woodchuck Greeting Trail
• Mickey’s House and Meet Mickey
• Minnie’s Style Studio

At Tokyo DisneySea:

• All rides and attractions
• Village Greeting Place
• Saludos Amigos! Greeting Dock
• Mickey & Friends’ Greeting Trails

Can I register for Disability Access Services for more than one day at a time?

The official website says you need to register each day at each park separately, on the day you attend. It is each day, each park.

Do I need a Carer with me to be registered for a Tokyo Disneyland disability pass?

Yes. If you have visual, mental, or developmental disabilities you must have an able-bodied person accompanying you in order to get a registered disabled pass.

You need one carer per disabled person for some rides like Space Mountain. So if you are a single parent and have two disabled children for example, or are two parents but are outnumbered with disabled children , consider registering only ONE disabled child if you can safely manage more than two on your own. The family group of up to five more people join you anyway.

Can my family or group board with me when I’m using my Disability Access Service (DAS)?

Yes. Up to five other people can board the ride with you when using your DAS. Up to nine people can go with you at a Character Greeting. You’ll need to have all their passes scanned with yours when entering the park with a disability ticket / registering for DAS.

From the Tokyo Disney website:

”At an attraction, this service is valid for up to six persons (yourself and five members of your party).”

How do I use a disability pass to skip the ride queue?

If you have bought a Tokyo Disney Resort Disability entrance ticket then once it is verified at the entrance gates then you will need to register again. After your initial registration at the first ride, reserve each ride by attending the ride and make yourself known to the ride queue attendants. You will receive a return time that equals the current queue wait time.

If you have a standard Park entry ticket, then you will need to Register for a Disability Access Pass at your first ride, once for that day.
After you are Registered, then you only need to make what is called a Disability Reservation or Return Time at each ride you want to go on.

Speak to the ride attendants first to Register and once your ticket is digitally linked as a disability pass (as will be your Carer’s and you’ll also need to present all the passes of the family or group members you’re visiting with) then – then after registration you only need to make a ride reservation by attending that ride and receiving a return time.

Do Tokyo Disney Cast Members speak English?

Not all cast members speak English, however cast members do have translation devices or access to them.

When requesting Disability Access to a ride it may be wise to use Google translate or translate a note into Japanese prior, to give or show attendants in case of language barriers.

What happens during the Tokyo Disney Disability Registration Process?

The process takes around ten-fifteen minutes and is a one-off procedure for that day in that park.

If you have a Tokyo Disney Resort Disability entrance ticket your papers will be checked at the front gates. You will still need to do your official DAS Registration at your first ride.

If you have a standard park entrance ticket then you enter the park as normal and register at your first ride.

You may need to queue to register, particularly if you are registering at a popular ride first-thing in the morning such as Beauty and the Beast. I would advise registering at a less popular ride with a shorter queue first.

Cast members will ask to see documentary proof of the disabled person’s disability (see above).

They will photograph the disabled person and register their pass. They will also register/scan the passes of all the accompanying family/friends, so make sure everyone is there for registration.

After registration you will make your first ride Disability Reservation.

How do you make a Disability ride reservation at each ride?

Seek out any ride queue Cast Member who will direct you to the appropriate Cast Member. They usually hold a light stick.

The Cast Member will check the disabled person’s photograph on their system and ask the Carer of the disabled person questions to make sure the disabled person will be able to physically ride the ride and also be able to safely exit the ride in an emergency.

Appropriate questions will also be written in English etc. on cards, and will be about sitting, walking and navigating stairs capabilities.

They may ask if the disabled person is capable of being able to walk or be supported by your Carer out of a ride for safely.

You will be given a return time to come back to the ride so that you don’t have to wait in the queue. The return time will exactly equal the current ride queue time as signposted – a wait time identical to the current wait time for that ride queue.

You will then be free to leave to spend that time elsewhere instead of standing in a queue.

This process is not regarded as a fast pass like a Tokyo Disney paid Premier Pass or the USA Genie+ pass, but a queue place holder.

Can we do other rides whilst waiting for our disability ride return time?

Yes you can provided you can make it back in time (strictly within 15 minutes of your return time).

You should be able to book other ride passes such as a Premier or Priority Pass – you can certainly try. We had some success but also some system blocks.

You can do other rides queuing as a normal park pass guest, however you can only use your Disability Pass one ride at a time, and only once per ride.

Where do I go at my ride queue return time?

You go to the ride Priority Lane – the same place you go to if you have a paid Premier Pass or a 40th Anniversary Priority Pass.

Same as the other Tokyo Disney passes, you will have a pass with barcode listed on you official Tokyo Disney Resort App.

When you return, scan the barcode of your disabled ticket holder’s pass FIRST at the Premier Access/Priority Pass lane. Cast members will need to be notified that you are disabled entries and verify your disabled persons first scan pass with their own device. Then all other members of your party/family group scan as normal.

What happens if I miss my return time or are running late?

You have up to 15 minutes ONLY after your return time passes to turn up to the ride. So you can arrive back up to fifteen minutes late after your stated DAS pass return time. Cast Members expect you to be on time. You cannot enter any earlier.

Will my Tokyo Disney Disabled Pass get me into Fantasy Springs?

Yes, Fantasy Springs is open to all and you can use your DAS pass on the rides there.

Can I use my DAS Pass to skip the queue for Fantasy Springs rides?

Yes, you can use your DAS pass for a return-time to use the Priority lanes.

What  Tokyo Disneyland Holiday Planning Facebook Group members say…

Okay I just did this last week.

You have to set it up each day at the park, at your first ride you need to use it.

At that time you will show your proof – being in US we showed a doctors letter.

They will scan tickets and get things set up for you. This will take at least five to ten minutes to do. And that’s if they don’t need to find someone else to do it.

After that it should be linked in the app and you’ll basically use it as a premier pass.

You will only have 30 minutes to use it after it is time.

At each ride they will have you confirm a series of saftey basically saying pass holder can evacuate in case of an emergency – they can walk down 200 stairs, climb a ladder, etc. Also that they can hold themselves up right m, things like that.

Next ride will be a little quicker but it still usually took 5 mins to get the return time, sometimes they had to find the right person, grab the book with instructions, etc.

I started keeping Google translate open and using the message “I need to get a disability access return time for my daughter.” Because asking verbally in English was not always immediately understood.

If you need a wheelchair it can get more complicated. We used a stroller as a wheelchair which was not always easy. – Cassie.

Our family is from the U.S. and just returned from Japan spending 4 days at Disneyland and DisneySea. We bought our tickets at full price and did not do a DAS discounted ticket. We used the DAS pass which allowed us to skip waiting in the queue line with everyone else but we still had to wait for the same amount of time outside the queue. To get the DAS pass we needed to show proof of my son’s ASD. To do this I had his primary care physician write a letter on her letterhead stating that my son has ASD and has a difficult time staying with the group and standing in line. Once inside the park, we went to the first attraction we wanted to ride and let them know we wanted to register for a DAS pass. They then asked to see the letter from his doctor and they scanned all of our tickets into a digital DAS pass that was now linked with our park tickets. We were then issued a return time. When that time came we would return to the Priority queue where our park tickets were scanned and we were admitted onto the attraction. To ride other attractions you then go to a cast member at each attraction you want to ride and ask for a DAS pass return time. The cast members have a transtator device which makes communicating with them really easy. They are all really helpful and once you do a few rides it becomes really easy. – Ann.

…we call it DAS disabilty access service. they will ask you to show proof (disability card, doctor’s note etc) that someone in your group has a disability.

after you enter the park, you go to any ride cast member and tell them that you will register for DAS. you show your proof and they take the picture of the person who has the disability. you do the registration once.

you have to tell the attraction cast member that you will use DAS, they will explain safety procedures and you get a return time.

you can do whatever you want while waiting for a return time. you can queue in line for a different ride. you can only use das for one ride at a time. – Group member.

Can I wait somewhere else instead of standing in line or queuing until boarding a ride?

Yes, if you are unable to stand or wait in a ride queue, there are separate ride waiting areas for conditions such as if you have a temporary disability (like a broken leg), are disabled, pregnant, wheelchair bound or elderly.

If you don’t have a DAS pass you will be separated from your group to wait in a special separate area and your group will wait in line as normal and then you can rejoin your party at their ride boarding time.

Can I bring food into Disneyland and DisneySea if we have strict dietary requirements?

Yes you can, and several park restaurants have microwaves available to you.

Are vegetarian meals available at Disney in Tokyo?

Yes, you can get vegetarian meals and a “Special Dietary Menu” at many park restaurants which avoid allergens.

Using a pram or stroller as a wheelchair

If you obtain a special sticker you can have your pram treated as a wheelchair which give you much closer access to rides. Like a wheelchair, staff will transport it to the end of rides for you to. You can also get access to special wheelchair viewing areas in theatres and at shows and parades.

Is there a special place for those in wheelchairs to view shows and parades?

Yes, and also for prams being used as wheelchairs. One group member has mentioned this area is open to all DAS pass holders. Contact nearby Cast Members to show you how and where to go to access it.

Can I use the Tokyo Disney Resort monorail or buses with a wheelchair?

Yes. There are elevators at each station, and carriage numbers 3 and 4 have spaces for wheelchairs. Staff can help with a ramp if necessary. Ramps are also available to board the free Disney Resort Cruiser bus service.

In Australia (and many other countries around the world) you can also buy your Disneyland Resort theme park tickets direct from a travel agent in your country, but you will be paying a premium. A travel agent can also include tickets in a Disneyland holiday package.

Which Disneyland tickets should I choose?

Disneyland Resort Multi-day tickets are the best choice if you’ve never been to Disneyland before.

Tickets are available singly into either theme park, or Disneyland Resort Park Hopper tickets allows you to cross between the two theme parks during the same visit. It’s simply a matter of walking across from one park to the other. It’s best to allow at least three days to cover both parks. Five or seven days are even better! Multi-day tickets and Park Hopper tickets can be great way to enjoy the two California Disney Resort parks.

What is Disneyland Lightning Lane?

Disneyland Lightning lane is the current name for the Disneyland ride queue fast lane. A Lightning Lane pass allows you to bypass the long ride queues to go straight to the front of the queue.

There are two versions of Lightning Lane passes to choose from.

The Lightning Lane Multi Pass, and the Lightning Lane Single Pass.

What is the difference between Disney Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass?

Formally known as Disneyland Fast Pass and Disney Genie, there are now two new Disney Lightning Lane systems – here’s the simple explanation of how they work. Remember, you must have a valid Disneyland day ticket and park reservation first!

How does Lightning Lane Multi Pass work?

1. For several selected rides at Disneyland and California Adventure
2. For one use per ride
3. Book the next available ride window
4. Get free Disneyland photo benefits
5. Buy either in advance (can buy from Klook) or in the park, but limited availability

How does Lightning Lane Single Pass work?

1. For the following two rides only:
   1. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Disneyland
   2. Radiator Springs Racers in California Adventure
2. Both of the above 2 rides are not included in the Lightning Lane Multi Pass
3. Use one time only on one ride
4. Book the next available ride window
5. Buy once you are inside the theme park using the Disneyland app (if available)
6. You can buy both if you like, but only one per ride is allowed per day.

Is Disney Lightning Lane worth it?

Yes! One thing is for certain – your Disneyland time is precious – and valuable. You may have traveled half-way around the world to visit Disneyland. You need to make the most of your time whilst you are there – this is no time to try and save a few dollars! So, it makes good sense to spend a bit more on a Disney Lightning Lane and streamline your Disneyland ride and entertainment experiences.

Disney Lightning Lane may seem like an extra expense, but even if you are only visiting Disneyland Resort for a limited number of days, you should definitely consider upgrading your standard ticket to a Lightning Lane pass for a more efficient visit.

What is Disneyland Early Entry?

As a bonus, when you stay at an official Disneyland Resort Hotel you get access to the Disneyland 30-minute early entry to one of the two Disneyland theme parks every day of your hotel stay. This is a really good reason to stay at a Disneyland Hotel. That’s a 30 minute head-start on other Disneyland visitors, which is a great advantage when it comes to the most busy rides at Disneyland! You do still need to have a valid park ticket and have booked a park reservation.

Which days are early entry for Disneyland Park for hotel guests?

Disneyland Park are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Which days are early entry for California Adventure for hotel guests?

Disney California Adventure Park are Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

The Disneyland Resort App is essential to make the most of your Disney days. Us this app for entry, Lightning Lane, live navigational maps, to find out ride wait times, event information and even where Disney characters are going to appear! Your photo pass ride photos can also be loaded into your app as you make your way around the theme parks.

In the USA or Japan, you can also use the Disney Parks App to purchase park tickets. We decided we wanted an extra day at Disneyland before flying home to Australia, and bought tickets using the Disneyland App.

The Disneyland Resort Play App comes in very handy if you are waiting in line for a ride, as families can use it to play Disney games together! It keeps everyone entertained and is a lot of fun.

Can I connect my paper Disneyland ticket to the App?

Yes you can. It’s a good idea to link your Disneyland Resort ticket to the Disneyland App on your phone before your visit, however you can do this anytime, such as after receiving your ticket (if you bought tickets online) at the gate.

Ticketing and Lightning Lane work seamlessly within the Disneyland Resort App on your smart phone via a scannable barcode system.

How do I scan my Disneyland tickets into the app?

Does holding a Disneyland ticket guarantee entry?

No. Like any other theme park, Disneyland has the potential to reach a maximum number of Guests in the park.

As there is still a park date reservation system being used in California Disney, it’s important you reserve the dates you wish to visit if this isn’t automatically included with your admission pass.

Do you still need to reserve your Disneyland date of visit in 2025?

Yes. This is managed by the Disneyland reservation system, which you can only make after you have bought a Disneyland ticket.

Therefore, at peak times such as USA holidays and weekends, it’s highly recommended that if your reservation isn’t included automatically with your Disneyland ticket, that you make your reservations early.

Tokyo Disney Resort has early entry to their Disney parks just like the USA does, but it’s a very different experience. Here’s all about Tokyo Disney’s Happy Entry 15 minutes early entry – what happens, how you get it and if it’s worth using.

What is Tokyo Disney Happy Entry 15 minutes early entry?

Tokyo Disney early entry (officially named “Happy Entry”) is a Special Entrance Pass given to all Tokyo Disney hotel guests for the morning of their stay/s and or check out. (not check in day). This allows them to bypass the main and much longer Tokyo Disney entrance queue and enter 15 minutes earlier.

The Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo Disney Sea early entry pass must accompany a valid park entrance ticket. The Fantasy Springs Happy Entry area requires a second slip of paper – a Proof Of Stay, as only Fantasy Springs guests may use the Fantasy Springs Happy Entry.

Guests line up at a special area to enter the Tokyo Disney park you have been given the 15 minutes early entry pass for (not all hotels give you both passes – more about that in a minute) 15 minutes before the general entry gates open.

Guests with an early entry pass and valid park ticket are scanned into the park in a group 15 minutes early, which allows you to book passes, get photos, hire prams, buy food and line up for your desired first ride earlier than the general entry guests who enter at Tokyo Disney parks official opening time. Some rides may even start unofficially operating earlier. Open services during the fifteen minutes are limited. For example, DisneySea’s Tower of Terror queue does not open until 9am.

All guests of Tokyo Disney Resort Hotels are given Happy Entry 15 mins early entry to either Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea.

No, you need to use the official park early entry for Happy Entry or General Entry until after 10am.

Can I get early entry into Tokyo DisneySea staying at Tokyo Disney Toy Story Hotel?

No, you may only use the direct entry through Fantasy Springs Hotel after 10am and before 9pm.

Where is Tokyo Disneyland Happy Entry early entry located?

Tokyo Disney Resort Happy Entries have special entrance areas which are separate to the general entry queues.

Where is the Fantasy Springs Hotel Happy Entry?

Fantasy Springs Hotel has two separate, special Happy Entrances.

The Fantasy Springs Hotel Grand Chateau Happy Entry (30mins early entry) entrance is located on the first floor, whilst the Fantasy Springs Hotel Happy Entry (15mins early entry) is the main Fantasy Springs Entrance for guests only, which passes underneath the hotel.

Which is the best DisneySea Happy Entry?

With its proximity to Fantasy Springs, the Fantasy Springs Hotel has the most advantageous Happy Entry for that area of DisneySea.

Whilst they are both DisneySea Happy Entries, Fantasy Springs Hotel gives its eligible guests a much bigger headstart on MiraCosta’s Happy Entry guests. This is because MiraCosta Hotel’s Happy Entry guests enter the park next to the main DisneySea entry, a good 15 to 20 minutes’ walk away from Fantasy Springs.

MiraCosta Happy Entry guests will still be making their way across the theme park whilst Fantasy Springs first Happy Entry guests may well be finishing their first and on to their second Fantasy Springs ride. Finally. Arriving yet another 15 minutes later will be the first main entry queue guests.

Therefore, the Fantasy Springs Hotel has the best Happy Entry for one of DisneySea’s most popular rides – Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey, followed by Rapunzel and Peter Pan. Due to its privileged location, the Fantasy Springs Hotel Happy Entry works out to be more like 30-45 minute DisneySea early start than 15 minutes!

Can I get Tokyo Disneyland Happy 15 early entry on check in day?

No, Happy Entry is not able to be used on check in day under any circumstances. Happy Entry passes are given at check in and won’t be given earlier. As check in is from 3pm in the afternoon, it is too late for early entry on the day of check in. Even if you are able to check in early, you won’t be given a Happy Entry pass for that day.

Can I still use the Fantasy Springs Hotel park entry on check in day?

Yes, even though you can’t get Happy Entry on check in day you are allowed to use the Fantasy Springs Hotel DisneySea entry on check in day. You will need to have a valid DisneySea admission ticket plus a Proof of Stay slip obtained from the Concierge Desk inside the hotel at pre-check in. You will need to queue and wait to enter DisneySea at official opening time using the Fantasy Springs Hotel park entry.

Do Tokyo Disneyland partner hotels give early entry?

No. Tokyo Disney partner hotels do offer a complimentary shuttle bus to the Tokyo Disney Resort parks, however they do not offer their guests the 15 minutes early entry pass to the Disney Parks.

Do Tokyo Disney Official Partner Hotels offer early entry?

No. Official Tokyo Disney Partner hotels do not offer Happy Entry. But these hotels shouldn’t be confused with the Tokyo Disney Hotels! The following hotels are called “official” Tokyo Disney hotels by Tokyo Disney. Confusing, isn’t it!

These hotels are the Official Tokyo Disney Hotels. They offer a free shuttle bus service to the Disney parks or monorail, plus a luggage delivery service to and from the Welcome Centre at the Mahaima JR Railway Station. They DO NOT offer Happy Entry (15 minutes early entry).

Does Happy early Entry include children sharing a bed in Tokyo Disney Hotels?

Yes, children aged 4 and over bed sharing in Tokyo Disney Resort Hotels will also receive Happy Entry early entrance Special Entrance Passes. Children under 4 can accompany their parents in any case.

Are the rides open during the 15 minutes early entry at Tokyo Disney?

Sometimes, unofficially. DisneySea Fantasy Springs rides are regularly operational during Happy Entry. Often other rides aren’t open during the early entry period, however you can line up for them. Rides will officially commence operating at the official park opening time. Tower of Terror ride queue is closed during Happy Entry.

What is open during Happy Entry?

Tokyo Disney park services including Pram and wheelchair hire, the Tokyo Disney guest services information office and first aid will all be open.

Do Tokyo Disney Resort partner hotels give Happy Entry?

No. There are no hotels other than Tokyo Disney Resort hotels that offer the 15 minutes early entry.

Do Tokyo Disney Vacation Packages include Happy Entry?

No, Tokyo Disney Vacation Packages do not include Happy Entry. Happy Entry is a separate bonus attached to each Disney hotel and is not connected to any TDR Vacation Package. VP holders can only get Happy Entry for their first Vacation Package day if they book an extra night the night before their VP (with the appropriate Disney Hotel for their VP Day 1 park). Happy Entries are according to the hotel and not Vacation Packages, so also may not align with Day 2 of Vacation Packages if the VP Disney Hotel’s Happy Entry isn’t the correct one for their Day 2 Park.

Do I have to buy our Tokyo Disney tickets at the hotel to use the Happy Hour early entry pass?

No, you just need a valid park ticket (so you can buy park tickets from KKDay or Klook to use with your Happy Entry)

Our family are already big LEGO fans, but you don’t need to love LEGO to enjoy a visit to LEGOLAND with your family.

LEGOLAND Malaysia is good value for Australian families

Malaysian hotels are cheaper than Singapore ones. A stay at the LEGOLAND Malaysia hotel is comparable to a three to four-star hotel in Singapore but the fun factor is much higher for families. So you can swap out one of your Singapore nights at LEGOLAND Malaysia like we did and it doesn’t cost you any more than your Singapore hotel would have!

Even though prices are cheaper in Malaysia, the LEGOLAND Malaysia resort is still a top-quality LEGOLAND resort with a great reputation as one of the world’s best theme parks.

The LEGOLAND theme park tickets represent good value in comparison to other LEGOLANDS. In addition, extra offers can be found throughout the resort. Take advantage of restaurant family deals to help stretch your Aussie dollar – or should I say, Malaysian Rinngit – further! Look at this spread we got for less than $40 – plus we got icecreams too! (We ended up with too much food actually, but we missed breakfast this day, so we did do it justice!)

The huge official LEGO themed hotel towers over the complex with its LEGO block facade on the outside and fully themed interior. From the moment you enter the main lobby to check in you realise that this is no ordinary hotel – on the contrary, it’s a LEGO lover kid’s dream!

LEGOLAND Malaysia themed rooms

When booking a hotel room, you can choose from your favourite LEGO theme.

LEGOLAND themed rooms are an absolute delight and great fun to stay in. More like apartments, there is a main bedroom, a kid’s bunk room and bathroom.

Large LEGO figures decorate your room. From the walls to the quilt covers to the carpet, everything is awesome inside your LEGO hotel themed room!

There’s an entertainment schedule and roaming LEGOLAND characters to grab a photograph with. Up on the rooftop you’ll find a LEGO themed resort swimming pool with gorgeous views over the lush Malaysian countryside.

From the LEGO castle cubby and brick pits in the main lobby to the magical light and sound elevators and the huge family restaurant full of large LEGO statue installations – a stay at the LEGOLAND Malaysia hotel is an absolute must during your visit for the complete LEGOLAND experience.

What is there to do at LEGOLAND Malaysia?

There are three main attractions at Malaysia LEGOLAND, all surrounding the LEGO hotel.

The Sea Life LEGOLAND aquarium is situated next door to the Hotel, and features a glass tunnel walk through.

The LEGOLAND water park has numerous themed water slides located across from the Hotel, on one side of the theme park.

By far, the main attraction at LEGOLAND Malaysia is the large LEGOLAND theme park, featuring numerous rides, displays and shows.

With so much on offer, you could easily spend a couple of days exploring the Malaysia LEGOLAND hotel and attractions.

What ages is LEGOLAND best suited for?

Unlike many other big theme parks, LEGOLAND is designed with small children in mind – but it’s not exclusive to them! Specifically, LEGOLAND fashions their park around children aged from 2 years old up to 12 years old (so, toddlers, preschoolers and primary school aged kids).

Even though several of the 40 rides and activities at LEGOLAND Malaysia are targeted towards young children, there is still a plethora of fantastic rides and entertainment to suit all ages.

Is LEGOLAND Malaysia good for adults?

In addition to the numerous families at LEGOLAND we also saw adults without kids, particularly couples and groups of friends. This is because the park itself is really entertaining and has a lot to offer everyone.

As both a parent, and an adult I really enjoyed our time there. I love LEGOLAND! It’s pure, unadulterated childhood fun that everyone loves – whether you are a LEGO fan, or not!

What can teenagers do at LEGOLAND?

Even though my kids are both teenagers now, we all agree that Malaysia LEGOLAND was a big highlight of what was already an epic Asian family holiday.

There are lots of rides that tweens, teenagers and parents can all enjoy together at LEGOLAND Malaysia. My girls (14 and 16 years old during our visit) say LEGOLAND is cool!

How many rides are at LEGOLAND Malaysia?

There are over 40 rides at LEGOLAND Malaysia, separated into 8 different themed worlds that are spread along a large walking circuit. Along the way you’ll also find restaurants, shows, characters, shops and other park features.

There are both fast-paced and slow and gentle rides at LEGOLAND.

Are there any thrill rides at the LEGOLAND theme park?

We rode and enjoyed several big thrill rides at LEGOLAND including Dino-Island – a breath-taking water flume plunge ride, the Ninjago laser shooting ride, a fast water carriage ride, and several exciting roller coasters.

In addition to the LEGOLAND rides, you can enjoy slow themed carriage and boat rides and enchanting walk-through LEGO displays.

Kids love to take part in LEGO building opportunities and workshop areas such as the LEGOLAND Academy.

A LEGOLAND cinema shows 4D movies, and a theatre performs live theatre shows each day starring Ninjago and LEGO Princess characters.

There’s a huge LEGO miniature countries display area situated within the centre of the park, which can also be seen from the colourful LEGOLAND train.

A favourite ride of mine was the large observation tower, “The Tower” which gently rises up to slowly rotate as it showcases beautiful views across the lush city-meets-jungle surroundings.

It’s the perfect opportunity to take a short break from all the running around and excitement. Grab an ice-cream or cool drink to take up with you so you can relax and take in the view whilst enjoying refreshments at the same time!

The huge LEGO gift shop at the front entrance has more LEGO than you’ve probably ever seen in one place! It’s hard not to walk out with at least one little set, and some are unique to LEGOLAND Malaysia.

All in all, it took us around four hours to circumnavigate the whole theme park. If we had had little ones with us, it could easily have been a full day out.

What are the LEGOLAND rides height limit?

A few rides at LEGOLAND are too small for adults, and some rides are too big for small children. Height guides are at the entrances to rides that have height minimums and maximus. There are plenty of English-speaking ride attendants to help supervise height limits.

LEGOLAND Malaysia weather

We visited Singapore and Malaysia during August and it was very hot and humid – you definitely need to keep your fluids up and drink plenty of water. We became connoisseurs of constant iced drinks! Malaysia enjoys a tropical climate, so it stays warm, humid and often rainy all year round. Just go with it – you’re in a different climate and on holiday – different is always a novelty!

Is it safe to go to Malaysia LEGOLAND?

Basic care and caution is always your friend when traveling. I’m sure I’m telling you the obvious here, but in Malaysia and elsewhere, terrorism is always a possibility. Always be sure to follow any Malaysia government directives or advice in the event of an emergency and consult with the Australian Embassy.

Before you go anywhere, always check the Australian Government Smartraveller website . They know which countries are a heightened risk to your safety. At the current time (January 2023), their advice is that visitors to Malaysia are advised to exercise normal safety precautions.

LEGOLAND Malaysia felt very safe to visit – it really felt a lot like a standard western theme park. Everyone spoke English everywhere. Everything was clean, neat and well-maintained. Quality food and water was always available to purchase.

Do I need cash for Legoland Malaysia?

No you don’t need Malaysian cash if you are just visiting Legoland Malaysia. Credit cards are readily accepted. The only thing you need cash for is if you are going shopping outside of the parks, or if you want to buy a copper press coin inside the park. Cash can be obtained from the ATM at the front entrance.

Helpful English-speaking staff are dotted all around LEGOLAND to answer any questions or concerns visitors might have, too.

The hotel was also very clean and comfortable, and the atmosphere overall at LEGOLAND Malaysia was a warm and welcoming one.

The cheapest LEGOLAND Malaysia tickets were on Klook

I like to shop around for the cheapest prices always, so I researched prices on the official LEGOLAND website, the third party app Pelago and the third party app Klook.

I purchased through Klook as it had the cheapest LEGOLAND Malaysia tickets. I also liked that you could downloaded the Klook app to your phone and then have your purchased tickets easily accessible digitally. I bought several of our Singapore attractions tickets on Klook, so it worked really well for me during our Singapore family holiday.

Another benefit was that the ticket codes meant no standing around in lines – you can go straight to the express entrance gates to be scanned in. So you can skip the queues!

LEGOLAND Malaysia is closed on Wednesdays

LEGOLAND Malaysia completely closed on Wednesdays, and the LEGOLAND Water Park is closed on Tuesdays.

Go to LEGOLAND Malaysia on a weekday

LEGOLAND Malaysia is most quiet on weekdays. We went on a Monday and it was extremely quiet, with no queueing for rides. LEGOLAND staff told me that weekends are apparently very busy, so it’s good to avoid weekends for your visit if possible.

The LEGOLAND Hotel was moderately busy even on a Monday, however the LEGOLAND Hotel is a big part of the experience, so do try to stay there if possible!

LEGOLAND Malaysia have one huge LEGOLAND hotel set right in the middle of the surrounding attractions. You can’t miss it – because it looks as though it’s constructed out of gigantic LEGOBLOCKS! Huge LEGO figures guard the entrance doors and make for really wonderful family photos, too!

Everything is Awesome!

One of our absolute favourite hotel stays anywhere, LEGOLAND Hotels are exactly as the LEGO song says – Everything Is Awesome!

They are themed to the max – absolutely everything, from the walls to the carpet to the lobby to the hotel pool to the very food you eat in the restaurant is – well – LEGO! Or at least, it looks like it. You don’t need to love LEGO to get completely caught up in the fun of a stay inside a LEGOLAND Hotel. It’s a destination all of its own.

LEGOLAND Hotel Lobby

From the moment you enter the main lobby to check in you realise that this is no ordinary hotel. It truly is a LEGO lover’s dream!

The Lobby is covered in play areas. Scattered big LEGO pits for random LEGO building, a giant LEGO castle and pirate ship to play in, and the most LEGO minifigs you’ve ever seen in your life along the wall at Hotel Reception. Good luck getting your kids out of the Lobby. Even my teenagers were engrossed in LEGO building when it was time to leave!

Free Entertainment

Check your schedule as soon as you arrive, because although the LEGOLAND theme park, water park and SeaLife Aquarium are the main attractions at LEGOLAND Malaysia, there’s also free entertainment happening in the LEGOLAND Hotel too, as part of your stay! Keep an eye out for LEGO characters wandering around for you to pose with for photographs too!

A gift shop is inside the hotel

Leaving in the morning but you were too busy to find time for the huge LEGO shop in the LEGOLAND theme park? Never fear, there’s a gift shop off the hotel lobby with after-hours time slots too! Keep your eyes open for the exclusive LEGOLAND Malaysia LEGO sets for a truly unique souvenir!

The LEGOLAND elevators

Get ready for a magical ride up to your room, because the LEGOLAND lifts are boppy, musical fun with lights and sounds galore. We had a disco rule that you had to dance every time you got into the lift – it was hilarious good fun, and what other hotel can you do that in and not look just a little crazy?!

Our LEGOLAND Premium Adventure themed room

I don’t care how old you are – lying under a LEGO quilt cover gazing out at LEGO themed walls, carpet and LEGO figures and models on the walls is darn fun! That’s what you’ll get with a Premium LEGO room.

Pay the little bit extra for premium or deluxe if you can, as you’ll get more luxurious decorations and more LEGO figurines in your room. Remember, your child will never be this young again, and they will love their stay even more with their very own LEGO decorations to sleep next to.

I have to admit, it gave me a bit of a thrill too – staying at a LEGOLAND Hotel is a magical experience for any LEGO-loving family, young or old!

LEGOLAND rooms are more like suites

LEGOLAND themed rooms have a main bedroom for parents with a TV, desk, chair and telephone, and a bunk room for up to three children with their own TV. It’s not an ordinary bunk bed of course – it’s covered in LEGO pictures, LEGO decorations and there’s even themed LEGO figures.

My girls are tall teenagers, and they fit the bunk beds just fine, too. A trundle pulls out for a third child if needed.

Our room had two big and two child sized robes to borrow and slippers to keep. There were abundant tea and coffee facilities supplied too.

What themed rooms are available at LEGOLAND Malaysia?

Themed rooms include Pirate themed, Adventure themed (our room – think Egypt and Indianna Jones), Ninjago themed and Kingdom themed (medieval times like knights, princes and princesses). LEGOLAND hotel bathrooms are also themed

It’s not just limited to the bedrooms though – oh no. Even the ensuite is LEGO themed – how fun is that?! There’s nothing quite like taking a shower surrounded by LEGO  – it’s just so much fun! There’s a child sized bathroom sink as well as an adult sized one too.

Also included are toothbrushes and toothpaste, shampoos and conditioner and soap.

A mysterious locked LEGOLAND Hotel room safe!

Just like LEGOLAND California, LEGOLAND Malaysia also has a mysterious coded safe in their hotel rooms – guarded by a LEGO animal figure! How do you find the safe padlock code? And what’s inside?

It may or may not be a little surprise gift for each of your little LEGO fans when they solve the supplied clues! (Or you can just ring reception if you get stuck and they’ll give you the code!)

The LEGOLAND Hotel swimming pool shouldn’t be missed

Bring your swimsuits with you! It may seem like you are already pressed for time with so much fun on offer, but you really should allow some time for the LEGOLAND Malaysia LEGO themed hotel swimming pool. It’s the perfect place to cool off in the tropical Malaysian climate.

Up on the roof top with gorgeous views across the surrounding Malaysian high-rises-meets-jungle, this is a truly beautiful hotel pool experience.

There’s a smaller kiddie pool adjoining the big swimming pool too, with floatie jackets to wear and giant pieces of foam LEGO to play with (what else, of course!).

The LEGOLAND Malaysia family restaurant

Just like the hotel itself, eating in the huge family restaurant is an experience in itself.

Full of large LEGO statue installations, eating at the restaurant is worth it just to see them. Everywhere you wander in the restaurant there’s a comical set of huge LEGO figures stuck in hilarious poses – tripping over, dodging pancakes….it’s so fun!

Purchase the family dinner deal for an all-you-can-eat buffet dinner of everything you can imagine, including lots of Western kid’s meal favourites like chicken nuggets and chips.

If you have a fussy eater, there’s lots of fried kids food choices, as well as basics like bread and rice – even green rice! There’s plenty of cooked vegetables, fruit and of course lots of yummy desserts too!

Breakfast has all the standard western food choices (so Australian brekky favs) like cereal, toast, pancakes, eggs and lots more.

You’ll find a cafe outside of the main restaurant too for mum and dad to get their barista coffee or tea fix and a nice cake to go down with it – and of course there is a whole other LEGO play area right there too, so you may actually get to finish your coffee – lovely!

A stay at the LEGOLAND Malaysia hotel is an absolute must during your visit for the complete LEGOLAND experience – you and especially your kids will be so happy you did!

How much does it cost to stay in a LEGOLAND Hotel?

Less than you think! The Malaysian LEGOLAND Hotel is good value for money, costing around the same as a three to four star Singapore hotel. So if you swap one of your Singapore nights for a side-trip to LEGOLAND, the hotel is about the same cost as you would have paid in Singapore – but you’ll have a lot more hotel fun!

Where I booked our discounted LEGOLAND Hotel room

I found the cheapest LEGOLAND Hotel room deal on the Agoda hotel comparison website instead of booking directly with LEGOLAND Malaysia, so it’s definitely worth checking first – it saved me almost $100 a night, and I booked it less than a week before we went! Our Premium Adventure Room cost me $333.93 AUD for one night in August 2022.

What days is LEGOLAND Malaysia closed on?

Keep in mind that LEGOLAND Malaysia closed on Wednesdays, and the LEGOLAND Water Park is closed on Tuesdays, so plan around those days depending on what you want to see and do.

A lot of Australians want to visit LEGOLAND during their Singapore holiday – but for many, it may seem a little daunting. Where exactly is it? Is it hard to get there? Are you allowed to go to LEGOLAND Malaysia from Singapore?

We found that even as a family with teenagers, a visit to Malaysia LEGOLAND is definitely well-worth the effort. Once you’ve got the logistics worked out, it’s really quite easy to get yourself and your fellow LEGO lovers singing “Everything is Awesome!” in beautiful LEGOLAND Malaysia in no time!

Is there a LEGOLAND in Singapore?!

No, there isn’t a LEGOLAND in Singapore – but there is a LEGOLAND very close to Singapore!

It was just a week before we left for our Singapore trip when I learned that there was a LEGOLAND near to Singapore. Upon further research I found it was actually in a neighbouring country – Malaysia. But how exactly do you get to LEGOLAND Malaysia from Singapore?!

Can you drive from Singapore to Malaysia?

Despite Singapore being an island, thanks to two long bridges across the water that separates the two countries – the Johor Strait – you can actually drive from Singapore to Malaysia LEGOLAND! No ferries to Malaysia and LEGOLAND are needed! But what is needed is specific vehicles with cross-border permission.

Being only one hour’s drive away from Singapore Airport, it seemed really doable to me. I was determined to make a trip to LEGOLAND Malaysia happen!

LEGOLAND Malaysia makes a great Singapore day trip or overnight trip

I shuffled our still-rough Singapore itinerary around (no mean feat when the Singapore attractions we were visiting were closed on certain days!) so that we had a whole free day and night. Then I started researching how to get myself and my girls to Malaysian LEGOLAND.

Can you go to LEGOLAND Malaysia as a day trip from Singapore?

Yes. As Malaysia LEGOLAND is only one hour’s drive away from Singapore, it’s definitely possible to visit LEGOLAND Malaysia as a day trip from Singapore.

The LEGOLAND bus arrives mid-morning at leaves at at 5:15pm in the afternoon. So you do miss out on some afternoon/evening fun time. A private car trip would give you extra time, as you can choose pick up time.

That said, I wouldn’t recommend doing LEGOLAND as a day trip from Singapore if you have a night to spare. The reason being that then your kids would be missing out on staying at one of the most fun hotels for kids in the world, Malaysia’s LEGOLAND Hotel! And Unlike some other theme park main hotels, a night or two at the LEGOLAND Malaysia Hotel isn’t hugely expensive.

Malaysia LEGOLAND hotel rates are reasonable in comparison to Singapore hotels – so it’s not costing you any more than staying in Singapore for the night. (LEGOLAND in Malaysia is even cheaper to stay in than California LEGOLAND, but it’s just as fun!)

How far is LEGOLAND Malaysia from Singapore?

LEGOLAND Malaysia is located in Iskandar Puteri in Johor, Malaysia, a neighboring country of Singapore in South-East Asia.

Singapore is an island. It’s connected to the Malaysia mainland via two long bridges spanning the Johor Strait. The bridge we crossed to get to LEGOLAND was named the Johor-Singapore Causeway.

Iskandar Puteri where LEGOLAND is located is 30 minute’s drive from the Malaysian city of Johor Bahru.

LEGOLAND Malaysia is around a 45 minute drive from the Singapore central business district.

LEGOLAND is around one hour’s drive from Singapore’s Changi Airport. Changi Airport is the huge international airport you will fly into from Australia (if you can, allow some extra time to explore this amazing airport’s family attractions!).

How far is LEGOLAND Malaysia from Kuala Lumpur?

LEGOLAND Malaysia is three and a half hours drive from Kuala Lumpur. So LEGOLAND Malaysia is actually located a lot closer to Singapore.

Crossing the Singapore-Malaysia border

The travel times I’ve mentioned from Singapore don’t take into account any possible delays at the Singapore-Malaysia land border checks, which can be hard to predict – anywhere from about twenty minutes all together, to maybe taking an hour or more.

There are two customs checkpoints either side of the Johor Strait bridges – one for each country.

On our trip, we went straight through each of the border checkpoints with no delay either way. It took around five to ten minutes at each check point.

My family test-ran two ways to get to LEGOLAND Malaysia from Singapore

I decided we would try the two main ways to get from Singapore to LEGOLAND Malaysia and back, so that I could let you know which worked best. We took a coach there and a private car back.

Both ways have their advantages and disadvantages, but each were safe, effective ways to go. They did differ in price, and so convenience. My comparison between the two ways to get to LEGOLAND from Singapore is coming up!

Things you need to know before you go to LEGOLAND Malaysia

The following information is everything I found out about traveling to LEGOLAND Malaysia from Singapore and back, visiting the main theme park and staying overnight at the LEGOLAND Hotel – which I highly recommend.

Our LEGOLAND trip was taken in August 2022, and then again in 2024, so prices, conditions and wait-times may vary according to your travel dates – double check everything and feel free to use this article as a useful planning tool.

What day is LEGOLAND Malaysia closed?

The same as the major Singapore tourist attractions, LEGOLAND Malaysia has days it is closed. The LEGOLAND theme park is currently closed on Wednesdays (excepting all December 2025 to January 7th 2026), and the LEGOLAND Malaysia water park is closed on Tuesdays (excepting 17th December 2025 to 23rd February 2026). The LEGOLAND Aquarium is open every day.

It’s important that you check if the LEGOLAND park you want to visit will be open on your planned visiting dates – this can also change if there are public holidays.

If you’re planning to take your family to Singapore Universal Studios too, make sure you schedule them both in before you buy the tickets for either, as Universal Singapore also closes on certain days.

For us, the main LEGOLAND theme park was where we wanted to visit (there is also a LEGOLAND Water Park and a LEGOLAND Sea Life Aquarium on site).

Check the opening dates status on their official website. It may even be wise to call LEGOLAND to double-check too.

Legoland Malaysia tickets

Another way is going through the motions of trying to purchase entry tickets on their official website simply to check that the dates are available (but you can save money by buying your entrance tickets on a third party ticket app like Pelago or the cheapest one that I could find, Klook).

LEGOLAND Malaysia opening hours

The LEGOLAND Malaysia theme park is open 10am to 6pm (excepting Wednesdays when it is closed) some days and 10am to 8pm others – you really need to check on their website, because it varies from week to week.

The LEGOLAND Malaysia Water Park is open from 10am to 6pm every day (excepting Tuesdays when it is closed).

The LEGOLAND Malaysia Sea Life Aquarium is open from 10am to 6pm every day.

Do Australians need a Visa to go to Malaysia?

No. Australians (tourists) don’t need a visa to enter Malaysia for a short stay (we stayed one night at the LEGOLAND Hotel).

Although Australian citizens holding an Australian Passport don’t need a visa to enter Malaysia, you MUST take your passport to enter.

Your passport is stamped both entering and exiting Malaysia at the land border.

On our passport stamp it says “permitted to enter for 99 days for social reasons”. You’ll see an example passport entry stamp in our passports in our bus video.

The Singapore 3 day entry card

What you do need to get is another Singapore (3 days notice) entry card to re-enter Singapore upon your return. (More about this following)

This information is correct as of January 2023 – check the most recent Singapore immigration requirements at the Singapore Australian Embassy official website here.

A 2nd Singapore SG Arrival Card is needed upon return from LEGOLAND

When visiting Singapore from anywhere, you are also required to lodge what is called an SG Arrival Card online using the MyICA Mobile app.

The Singapore Arrival Card is a FREE process. Don’t fall for scamming websites offering to do it for you for a fee or charge!

Make sure to keep the MyICA App on your phone to show proof of your lodged Singapore arrival card if necessary.

The SG Arrival Card must be submitted within the 3 days prior to your visit.

That doesn’t mean it has to be done at least 3 days prior. It means you can do it any time within that 3 days.

Therefore you’ll also be required to do an additional SG Arrival Card for your re-entry into Singapore from LEGOLAND Malaysia. Even if you’re only on a day trip to LEGOLAND.

The lodged online Singapore entry card and your Australian passport is all you need to re-enter Singapore when returning from LEGOLAND Malaysia.

How to fill in a Singapore Entry Card

The entry card is nothing to worry about. You can do it any time online within 3 days before arriving in Singapore from Australia or Malaysia.

Although it’s better to be prepared, if you forget to do it beforehand you can still fill the Arrival Card out on the LEGOLAND bus or in your private car on the way back to Singapore from LEGOLAND Malaysia – or even when you arrive at the Singapore/Malaysia border crossing checkpoint if you like.

Tip: If traveling by private car, ask your car company to provide you with your private car details (the registration number) prior to the day they pick you up so that you can fill out/lodge your Singapore re-entry SG Arrival Card in advance. This avoids the inconvenience of doing it in the car, or having to sit at Singapore Immigration doing it at the last minute.

For our return LEGOLAND trip entry into Singapore, I asked for the private car rego number from the company, and then lodged our Singapore three day entry card online whilst still at our Singapore hotel the night before we even left for LEGOLAND.

(When arriving in Singapore, you can literally do a Singapore entry card at Changi Airport if you wish. I saw people standing around doing them, so last minute doesn’t seem to be a problem. That said, I wouldn’t recommend that, as airlines may have their own requirements before you leave for Singapore)

How I filled in our Singapore entry cards

For my first SG Arrival Card, I put my departure date as my final departure date from Singapore, even though I was submitting a second SG Arrival Card for our return from LEGOLAND Malaysia within that time period. It didn’t seem to cause any issues, so I assume the departure dates don’t have to be precise with regards to a Malaysia side trip. The entry dates however, must be correct.

How long does it take to cross the Malaysia-Singapore border?

Delays at the border are possible dependent upon the day and time. It can apparently take up to an hour. We had no delays at all and went straight through both there and back. We were held up no more than five to ten minutes at immigration on both sides of the border, however we entered Singapore on National Day morning, a public holiday – so we may have just got lucky!

The cheapest LEGOLAND Malaysia tickets are on Klook

I like to shop around for the cheapest prices for anything, so I researched the prices of tickets on the official LEGOLAND website, the third party app Pelago and the third party app Klook.

I purchased through Klook as it had the cheapest LEGOLAND Malaysia tickets at the time.

I also liked that you could downloaded the Klook app to your phone and then have your purchased tickets easily accessible.

I ended up using Klook for cheap tickets to several Singapore attractions as well – it worked really well for me during our trip. Another benefit was that the ticket codes meant no standing around in queues – you can go straight to the express entrance gates.

There are two coach companies that go from Singapore to LEGOLAND.

I checked the reviews and decided to book with WTS Travel.

Where is the Singapore to Legoland bus station?

Now moved to Sunteccity Mall – follow the signs to the bus station.

About Singapore Taxis and Grab cars (Singapore Ubers)

Whilst in Singapore we caught taxis most of the time – particularly if we were short on time, or there was no convenient MRT station. Costs for taxis and Grab cars (Singapore’s version of Uber cars) are similar – the benefits of Grab (download the Grab app) are that you have already paid online so you don’t need to fumble around or wait at the destination to pay. Singapore taxi drivers/Grab car drivers don’t require tips.

What happens at the Singapore Malaysia land border checks by coach

Once you set off, it really seems like you are at Singapore immigration in no time, right before the bridge crossing to Malaysia.

The coach stops and everyone gets off and walks inside the immigration building.

Singapore officials check your passport (Singapore don’t stamp your passport anywhere).

Your suitcases stay on the bus and the bus moves to meet you where you come out of the building at the other end.

This whole process only took 5 minutes. (This was a Monday morning at around 9am)

What happens at the Malaysia Immigration border check by coach

After driving across the long bridge between Singapore and Malaysia, the coach stops at Malaysia immigration on the other side.

Everyone gets off and retrieves all of their suitcases and bags from the bus to take with them.

You proceed inside the immigration building to a desk where they check your passport and stamp it. Then you walk through to the bag checking area.

All bags are put on an x-ray conveyor belt, and you walk through an x-ray detector like you do at an airport.

Then you collect your bags and head back out to the bus which has moved down and is waiting outside.

Again, this whole process only took about 5 minutes.

One tip we were told by our coach driver is MAKE SURE THAT MALAYSIAN IMMIGRATION PUT THE CORRECT DATE ON YOUR PASSPORT STAMP. Apparently, it’s common for a wrong date to be put on by mistake, and then you may need to pay a fine later. It certainly can’t hurt to double-check that your passport date stamp is correct before you leave Malaysian Immigration for LEGOLAND. If you watch our video you’ll see an example of our passport date stamp to check.

The LEGOLAND Coach drops you off at the Legoland Malaysia entrance.

We arrived at LEGOLAND Malaysia at around 10:30am. The coach drops passengers off at the main entrance.

If you hired a car and self-drove, the carpark is a walk of around 200 metres with our bags down a long, shaded concrete path.

Return Coach from LEGOLAND to Singapore

To catch the WTS Coach back to Singapore, meet it at the same car park drop off point at 5:15pm in the afternoon.

How much does the Singapore bus to LEGOLAND cost?

The price of the WTS Travel Singapore Flyer bus to LEGOLAND Malaysia costs around $30 Singapore Dollars per person.

Using a private car service to and from Singapore to LEGOLAND is a very convenient, but of course much more expensive option.

Certain companies with a permit to cross the border offer this service. I used the company most talked about positively in Facebook groups (I have put all the contact details at the end).

I saw MOSTLY good reviews online (I did a bit of Googling and saw a couple of complaints on Trip Advisor I think, however overall, this company seem well reviewed and looked professional – one person complained they had been dropped off at the wrong hotel, one complained of bad driving) For us, fortunately the service was excellent.

When to book:

I arranged our journey a few days in advance in Australia and paid without any issues. I recommend pre-booking to be sure.

There were a couple of slightly worrisome planning issues that ended up fine, like when you message with the car company via Whatsapp, however they responded immediately no matter the time of day and were very efficient.

SGMYTAXI payment options – you can use a Singapore app to pay them but only in Singapore, so ask them for a link to pay them by credit card from Australia (there is an extra charge of a few percent – this was really the only option available to us).

Important notes:

For the company we used, booking and arrangements are done via the Whatsapp App. Keep your Whatsapp live on your phone for messages with the company.

How it went – private car from LEGOLAND to Singapore

The car driver picked us up at the front door of the LEGOLAND Hotel. He was early by 5 minutes and called me to let me know. He was very helpful and respectful and loaded our suitcases. The vehicle was a spacious, air conditioned and modern mini van.

The Singapore & Malaysia border crossings are easy by private car.

What happens at Malaysia Immigration by private car

After about twenty minute’s drive from LEGOLAND Malaysia, we arrived at the Malaysia Immigration car entrance.

The driver took our passports and handed them to the Malaysia Immigration officer. They check your face against your passport.

The passports were stamped, and then we drove out of Malaysia Immigration.

What happens at Singapore Immigration by private car

Then we drove through and over the bridge to Singapore Immigration. The passport check happened the same way – you now need to get out to go through customs on foot.

The van tailgate was raised and our bags were somehow checked or xrayed whilst still in the back of the van. The car was quickly checked over at the same time. That was it. It was all easy and quick.

We spent no more than 10 minutes at each immigration stop and it was a much easier process than the coach, where you had to get out and physically walk through the customs halls with your suitcases.

Passing through immigration took about ten minutes total at 8:30am on National Day (a Tuesday and a public holiday)

Soon we were back on our way to where we wanted to go in Singapore – the Jurong Bird Park (which has now moved to the Singapore Zoo site).

Our driver had driven carefully all the way, was polite and helped us load and unload our suitcases. All in all, we were very happy with our private car experience.

How much does a private car to LEGOLAND cost?

The private car to LEGOLAND price is normally about $150 AUD ($130 SGD) one way (on public holidays it will cost an extra 30%).

The company we used was Singapore – Malaysia private car services – SG-MYTAXI. We encountered no problems with this company during our booking, payment and trip.

Can you get to LEGOLAND Malaysia using public transport?

Yes, you can get to LEGOLAND Malaysia using the MRT train or a taxi and then change to public bus to cross the border, or just public bus all the way. There is also a specific Causeway Link Bus. Apart from it being cheap, you really aren’t going to save much money in comparison to taking the Singapore Flyer coach that we took – but you will lose some time due to the transfers. You’ll also need to know where and how to change public buses with kids and cases in tow. Time is money when you are on holiday, so I dismissed these options to get to LEGOLAND as not particularly feasible for tourists.

Legoland Malaysia train

There is also a train that crosses the border from Johor Bahru, a major city half an hour from LEGOLAND near the Malaysia/Singapore border, however this means you need to get to Johor Bahru first. Again, not straight forward, but perhaps a fun adventure if you have extra time and want to check out the city too.

Can you get to LEGOLAND Malaysia by taxi?

Yes, you can. There are special Singapore & Malaysia taxis who have permits to allow them to make the border journey. They are limited to leaving and dropping off a one point – Ban San Street Taxi Stand in Bugis in Singapore. This means no direct pick up or drop off to your hotel, so catching two taxis. There’s no great savings in using two taxis instead of one private car, plus they can’t pick you up at your hotel or LEGOLAND and make the entire journey in one go, so to me this method seemed overly complicated.

Can you hire a car and drive yourself to LEGOLAND Malaysia?

Apparently this is possible, however you would need to discuss crossing the border to Malaysia with the Singapore hire car company as many don’t allow it. You would also need to contend with Malaysia and Singapore street directions, tolls and border crossings. There is a large carpark at Legoland.

So, which is the best way to get to LEGOLAND Malaysia from Singapore – coach or private car?

It really depends on your budget and priorities.

Are you visiting LEGOLAND Malaysia on a tight budget? Take the LEGOLAND bus

If you have a tighter budget, the coach is cheap, comfortable and the border crossing is still simple.

If you have a larger family it may be closer to more cost-effective to go by car. For example, the three of us would now cost around $60 Singapore Dollars by bus. The private car cost $130 Singapore Dollars – however it was a mini van, so could have carried two more people. Therefore the difference between the two would have been less, because 5 people would have cost more by coach.

In any case, the coach to LEGOLAND will cost significantly less than a private car and driver.

Is convenience more important to you than price? Order a private driver to get to LEGOLAND

If you have a higher budget, arrange a private car for an easier experience. You can be picked up at the airport or your hotel in Singapore, and be picked up at the door at the LEGOLAND Hotel. All at times that suit you, not a bus schedule.

You will also benefit from an easy border crossing without even having to get out of the vehicle.

Of course you pay much more. That’s the trade-off!

Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park at the Plaza Inn

If you want to experience all aspects of Disney magic whilst you are visiting Disneyland California, then you really must do at least one Disneyland breakfast.

There are several amazing California Disneyland breakfasts available, including the Donald Duck Breakfast at the Paradise Pier Hotel, Mickey’s Tales of Adventure and the Princess Breakfast at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, and Goofy’s Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel – however we think it would be hard to beat the Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park – which happens right inside Disneyland at the Plaza Inn.

Location Location Location!

This Disney breakfast is the only one to actually take place inside Disneyland. Hosted in the historic Plaza Inn restaurant, an original landmark of Disneyland Park, this location simply can’t be beat. If that wasn’t enough Disney magic, this Disney breakfast experience is made all the more special by it’s views of the Disneyland Sleeping Beauty castle!

Before you go – don’t forget these essential items!

Essential items to take along with you to your Minnie and Friends Disneyland breakfast are your camera (of course!) and a Disney Autograph book, which you can purchase from most Disneyland gift shops. Your Disneyland Autograph Book will become one of your child’s most treasured Disney souvenirs. My girls page through their autograph books in wonder. If I had a dollar for every time Brooke or Samantha exclaimed, “I can’t believe we filled up our autograph books!”, I’d be a rich mum! Each Disney character has their own, very special autograph style – and it’s absolutely charming watching them sign your child’s book as they look on in awe.

What is the Minnie & Friends Breakfast like?

This wonderful Disney breakfast was truly magical. My girls and I absolutely loved every moment. Whilst it’s truly a thrill to come across Disney character circulating outside in the Disneyland theme park itself, it’s here at the Minnie & Friends breakfast that you will be given the opportunity to spend quality time with almost every Disney pal you can think of will come to you!

Reservations for the Minnie & Friends Disney characters breakfast are highly recommended, however if there is availability you can attend without a prior booking (You will need to pay for the character breakfast experience if you are a walk-in).

Tip 1 – book accommodation with early entry

It may not seem like much, but you can use your 30 minutes early entry pass to save hours at your Walt Disney Theme park!

How do I get Walt Disney World early entry?

Because we were staying at an official Disney hotel at Walt Disney World, we benefitted from the 30 minutes early entry bonus that you automatically get as a registered Disney hotel or Disney partner hotel guest.

Early entry is advantageous, as it allows you to access ride queues and select rides before the public opening time.  This gives you a head start on the general public on your Disney day, particularly if you arrive early for your early entry! Every bit counts, particularly if you haven’t purchased Lightning Lane.

As there are several large Disney hotels and partner hotels within the Walt Disney World precinct there are thousands of early entry guests but it still does make a big difference to your quality park time.

Forward planning: Early entry is something you may like to take into consideration when it comes to planning your Walt Disney World vacation accommodation.

Do Walt Disney World parks open before opening time?

Yes! Often, you’ll find that all of the Walt Disney Parks scan people into the park well before the advertised opening time. It can be beneficial to get to your chosen theme park half an hour early to access shops and be ready to queue for popular rides as soon as you are allowed to proceed to them.

How do I enter Walt Disney World theme parks entrance gates?

The Walt Disney Parks work on an electronic access system. You may buy or pick up a hard-copy Disney swipe card (we were given ours at our Disney Hotel) which is electronically linked to your Disney account.

Another option is to simply use your Disney MagicMobile pass in the My Disney Experience mobile app.

For even more convenience during your WDW visit a great accessory is a Disney MagicBand writstband.

The Disney entrance system is very easy to use. After going through the security bag scan check, just tap your app pass, Disney card or MagicBand at the Park entrance gate readers and you’re permitted to enter!

To have your MagicMobile digital tickets on hand, and in preparation for your visit to Walt Disney World, download the Walt Disney World App My Disney Experience before you go at the App Store and Google Play.

Navigate around the theme parks, find restaurants, rides, check for event times and other points of interest. You can check ride wait times and much more.

Tip 2 – buy Disney Magic Bands

These clever little wrist bands many seem like an expensive luxury but you can do so much with them with one quick swipe and not need to go searching through your wallet for money, tickets or keys once during your Walt Disney Days!

What is a Disney Parks Magic Band?

The MagicBand is a smart wristband that acts as your Disney entrance ticket – and much more. It is swipe-able to enter the park, access your FastPass for Lightning Lanes, attach Disney photographer shots, access your hotel room and even pay for things if you set it up with your credit card. Just wave your writsband at the readers!

Probably the most fun feature of the Disney Magic Band is the way it interacts with objects all around the Disney parks. Statues sense when the watch is near and talk or light up. Magic Bands will flash with lights inside rides such as the Haunted Mansion. There’s a whole Star Wars trail, ‘Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters’ Experience inside Galaxy’s Edge exclusive to MagicBand+ devices. Even the fireworks show pulses themed lights through the Magic Band.

Are Disney Magic Bands free?

No, you need to purchase Magic Bands. They were free until 2020, but from 2021 are now available for an extra charge . You can buy them all over the Disney parks and in the Disney gift shop at Disney Springs.

How much do Magic Bands cost?

Magic Bands start at around USD$34.99 for a basic plain MagicBand (around AUD$50+). Prices increase for certain designs and limited edition models right up to USD$64.99, (around AUD$100) but they all basically do the same thing. The more expensive MagicBands just look prettier.

Can I buy a Magic Band from Australia before we go?

No, you can’t buy Magic Bands from Australia. You can get buy them from all Walt Disney World parks plus a few hotel resort shops and World of Disney in Disney Springs before you enter the parks. It’s very quick and simple to link your Magic Band within the park the first time you visit, plus you get lots of brand new themed choices.

Are there cheaper kid sized Magic Bands?

No, not anymore. With the launch of the new Magic Band+ model it’s now an adjustable one-size-fits-all. The basic original model does have kids sizes still available in the parks in 2023 for USD$19.99. (AUD$31) but you won’t be able to use it in Disneyland CA.

Will my Magic Band work at all Disney parks?

If you intend on visiting Disneyland at some point in the future, or perhaps even on the same trip like we did, be sure to buy the Series 2 Magic Band, the Magic Band+. The series one is still for sale, so don’t get them confused! This latest Magic Band version will work at both Disney USA parks.

Is it worth buying a Magic Band?

My girls absolutely loved their Disney Magic Bands and whilst I originally thought it would be a waste of money, I caved in when I saw just how many capabilities these smart little watches have. My youngest (15) bought hers in Disneyland, and when my oldest (17) saw how much fun she was having with it, she asked for one too.

There are many different Disney themed Magic Band designs to choose from. My girls chose their favourites – Disney’s Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and Darth Vader from Star Wars.

MagicBands are a new way to add to the Disney magic and in my opinion, they are worth the money – even if you are only staying a few days at one park. That said, you also need to understand that other than looking cute MagicBands could be termed as a waste of money if you don’t plan on returning to the U.S.A. Disney parks. Magic Bands are dead weight once you leave the Walt Disney World or Disneyland precincts!

Tip 3 – use the Disney photographers

Trust me on this one. If you’re thinking to yourself, “Oh we can get our own photos, we have timed photo smart phones”, or “We can ask someone to take a shot of us”, or “I’m not paying $200 for photos I can take myself!” – think again. These photographers know what they are doing and can get perfectly posed shots smack in front of iconic Disney symbols that you’ll love forever – plus you don’t need to pay for them until after you get home and – ahem – have perhaps refilled your cash coffers!

Should we use the Disney Park photographers you see around the parks?

The answer to this question is a solid YES! They don’t cost you anything at the time, and later you may just thank yourself.

We always take the opportunity to line up for official Disney photos in the iconic areas of Disney parks. Being a single parent family it can be difficult to get photos of us all together – other than selfies of course! This is also true for all families wanting a photo with everyone in it!

Official Disney photographers can be found at all the good photo spots, and they’re great at knowing how and where to pose you to get a great shot. You just scan your Disney Magic Band, Card or Disney App with the photographer to have your photos automatically added to your Disney account on your My Disney Experience mobile app. Sometimes they’ll add something a little special to your photos too!

At the end of your Disney visit you have lots of lovely family photos to bring back the wonderful Disney memories!

Disney photos disappear off your Disney App

Be sure to pay for your photo package and download your photos at least soon after your holiday though, because they’re not saved on your Disney app. forever! Photos expire just a few weeks after your visit.

Is it worth buying the all-inclusive Disney Photo Package?

Yes, it is. Even though you can buy photos singly I usually buy the all-inclusive photo package which now even includes a few short feature videos of your family on rides!

Our May 2023 Walt Disney World photo package cost USD$200 (around AUD$300) and included all our digital photos taken around the four WDW parks, plus some short ride videos. Expensive, yes. Worth it? Can I still get my Disney photos if they have expired off the app?

Yes! It’s possible to still get access to your Walt Disney World photos after they have disappeared off the app by phoning Walt Disney World and asking for them to be temporarily restored. I have had this done a week following expiration, and whilst not guaranteed, it’s certainly worth a try – it worked for me!

How many theme parks are there at Walt Disney World?

Made up of four major theme parks plus two water parks, Walt Disney World (also known as WDW for short) offers Disney magic galore.

Each WDW park is very different from the other. They all offer amazing rides and experiences that shouldn’t be missed if you plan on enjoying the big attractions that Walt Disney World has to offer.

We decided to hit the four major parks on our first visit and leave the two water parks and golf sport activities for a later visit.

We’ll concentrate on the big 4 Walt Disney World theme parks in this guide.

What are the four Walt Disney World theme parks?

We spent one day at each of the four big Walt Disney World parks in Orlando.

You can read a more in-depth review of each theme park by clicking on their linked names below, but here is a basic summary of each park and their biggest attractions:

Magic Kingdom – the most popular of the four theme parks, this is the classic Disneyland experience in Florida. Here you’ll find the Cinderella Castle, parades, fireworks and traditional rides like Big Thunder Mountain Railway, unique rides like the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and the exciting newest Walt Disney World ride (2023) the Tron Lightcycle Run.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios – some really fun rides, attractions and movie-themed shows can be found here. Home of the incredible Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge area, Toy Story Land plus the awesome new-ish (2020) Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway ride and a fun movie stunt show.

EPCOT – a massive park, EPCOT is home to several internationally themed areas and experiences – all mixed with some great rides like Ratatouille, Test Track, Frozen Ever After and the breathtaking new (2022) Guardians Of The Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind ride.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom – the largest Disney park in the world! If Disney had a zoo, this would be it with a fun (real!) animal safari truck tour, bird flight shows plus several thrill rides too including Expedition Everest and Dinosaur. This is also the home of the amazing Pandora area with the outstanding (2017) Avatar Flight of Passage and the Na’vi River Journey rides.

Disney Hotels

In addition to the theme parks at Walt Disney World Orlando there are several great Disney hotels which are experiences in themselves to stay in. We stayed in the super-fun budget Disney’s Pop Century hotel.

Disney Springs

Don’t miss the massive Disney shopping precinct mecca, Disney Springs – another area within the Walt Disney World and well-worth a visit with its massive Disney store (the biggest in the world!) and awesome Rainforest and Dinosaur Cafes.

Do I still need to make park reservations for Walt Disney World?

Yes and no.

You do still need to make park reservations if you buy standard One Park tickets until January 2024.

Which Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida tickets should I choose?

What kind of Klook Walt Disney World tickets are available?

There are several different types of Walt Disney World Resort tickets available to choose from on Klook.

The new Walt Disney World Resort 4 Park Magic Ticket

The 4-Park Magic Ticket is a great choice if you have four days available to visit the parks. The four park Magic Ticket gives you access to one park per day for all four parks. Best of all, no further park reservation steps are required!

You have seven days to use your Magic Ticket from the day you visit your first park, and some block out dates do apply.

The Walt Disney World Single Park Ticket

If you only have one day to visit, or decide you want to add an extra day on to your visit, this is your ticket!

The Single Park Ticket is good for one day at a specific Walt Disney World Resort park of your choosing. It does have some restrictions. You can only buy these tickets singly, plus you can’t change parks during the day like you can with a Park Hopper ticket – you only get access to the one park for that one day.

The Walt Disney World 1-Park-Per-Day Ticket

If you would like to visit more than one day for the cheapest price, the 1-Park-Per-Day Ticket is the ticket for you.

Perfect for days at Walt Disney World Resort when you want to stay within one park each day without crossing over to another park, the One Park Per Day Ticket from Klook is a good choice. You can’t change parks during the day like you can with the Park Hopper ticket. You get access only to the one park each day.

You can choose how many days you’d like to visit with the 1-Park-Per-Day Ticket – from 2 up to 10 days.

Note that with this ticket, there is a minimum order of 2 days.

The Walt Disney World Park Hopper Ticket

Can’t decide which of the four major WDW theme parks park to visit on any particular day? Do more than one with a Park Hopper ticket!

Purchase the Walt Disney World Resort Park Hopper ticket for theme park flexibility.

With a Park Hopper Ticket, you can visit any of the four parks on the same day after a certain time.

This means you have the freedom to visit your favourite rides by changing theme parks later the same day, no matter where they are at Walt Disney World!

Although Park Hopper tickets cost you a little more, they’re a great way to optimise your time and preferences at Walt Disney World.

All that said, it is wise to note that Park Hopping usually isn’t accessible until early afternoon, and not all the parks are located close together. If you decide to change parks during the day you may need to take into account possible transit time between them. There is an efficient free gondola and/or bus service between parks.

You can choose how many days you’d like to visit with a Park Hopper Ticket – from 1 up to 10 days.

Disney Genie Plus Fast Passes

To skip the ride queues, Walt Disney World’s fast pass Genie+ is available for an additional cost to your valid park admission ticket.

Genie plus can be purchased on the My Disney Experience App while you are at Walt Disney World.

How much does Genie+ cost?

Genie plus cost around USD$30 per person per park when we were there in February 2023.

Genie Plus allows you to access what’s called Lightning Lanes in Walt Disney Resort parks for a large range of rides.

Lightning Lanes are a fast way to avoid the queue and get to the head of the ride line. This can potentially save you hours of wait time.

In addition to Genie+ there is also a paid one ride Lightning Lane access option available for a few select, popular rides on the WDW App.

We did not purchase Genie+ whilst we were at WDW, which did impact the number of rides we were able to experience.

We were gifted a Lightning Lane pass when one of our other Disney rides broke down and found that it worked very well in getting us to the head of the queue quickly.

How does Genie+ work?

Genie+ works using a QR code system. On the My Disney Experience App you access the Genie+ list and select a ride and time slot. You then go to that ride within the hour time limit allotted to you and scan in at a special entrance with your Genie+ QR code.

There are some Genie+ booking rules to keep the system fair, such as you need to book Genie+ time slots two hours apart, or alternatively after your last Genie+ booking has been scanned into – whichever comes first.

Walt Disney World ride strategy using Lightning Lane

You can only use Genie+ for certain rides, plus you can only use it once per ride.

Ride slots can fill up during the day so it’s best to book your first ride as the most popular ride you want to go on (with the longest wait time) as soon as possible after entering the park.

Proceed as soon as possible to each Lighting Lane booking as they become available- you’ll receive a notification and barcode on your app.

Keep using Genie+ throughout the day until no more ride time slots are available, booking a new ride either immediately after scanning in to each Lightning Lane or two hours since your last Genie+ Lightning Lane booking.

Tron and Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind special ride reservations

Rides like Tron and Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind are so new and popular that you only have limited options to ride them.

You can either buy an individual Lightning Lane access ticket, or you try to reserve a free “boarding group” spot first thing in the morning at 7am or 1pm in the afternoon.

We managed to get on both rides using the free reservation system, but even being ready to book right away we ended up in a later boarding group in the middle of the day.

It’s important to have your finger on that booking button the second the clock ticks over the morning of your park visit like we did, or during the afternoon booking period – or you may miss out!

Even when you are booked into a boarding group time slot, you do still need to wait in the ride queue for around an hour to actually board the ride (unless you used the paid Lightning Lane option).

The paid spots also fill up fairly quickly (they were full by lunchtime the day we were there), but both rides are simply amazing, hence their popularity.

Make the extra booking effort, because it would be a shame to miss out on either of these two exhilarating thrill rides!

What is EPCOT?

Disney’s EPCOT is a massive, globally themed Disney ride and attractions park in Orlando, Florida.

EPCOT was the second park to be opened at Walt Disney World in 1982. It’s a massive theme park, covering area of 305 acres. With a huge lake in its centre surrounded by different world country areas, EPCOT feels like a fabulous international world travel expo or fair – but with really amazing Disney rides and shows added!

We set out to do all the rides at EPCOT on our one day visit and found that whilst it was possible to squeeze them all in, it left precious little time to really enjoy all the international exhibits and shows on offer. Still, we gave it a really solid try! Here’s how our day at EPCOT went…

What are the best rides in EPCOT?

Everyone has their favourite Disney rides but as this was our first visit to EPCOT, we could hit them all for the first time in one day! Our four top EPCOT rides were:

1. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

We go into more detail about this ride later but trust us – if you are okay with flashing lights, spinning and whirling through the galaxy at top speed whilst upbeat music plays, then you’re going to LOVE this ride. Hugely popular, you need to PLAN AHEAD to ride it (more info below).

2. Test Track

Now updated in 2025, design a car on a computer and then go for a speedy real-world ride in it – what’s not to love? Test Track is so fun! It definitely lived up to the hype. I also like to think that we did prove the point that even if your car design is terrible (we accidentally bumped the screen and nearly cut the car design in half!) you can still win everything except for efficiency! Awesome fun that goes super fast at 104kms (that’s 64 miles) per hour.

3. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

A top family-friendly ride, we really only just edged this ride out of second place. I usually find 3D rides less immersive because it means a high-screen content, but although Ratatouille has screens, they are massive and the props are all huge too – the ride is designed to made to make you actually feel like you are rat-sized, and it does a fantastic job of it.

4. Spaceship Earth

Have you ever wondered if there is anything inside the big EPCOT golf ball? Okay, so EPCOT don’t actually call it a golf ball, it’s the iconic “Geosphere” that you see when you first enter the main gates. It also just so happens to have a very cool ride inside of it! Spaceship Earth is a family friendly, slow paced ride that features a fascinating trip through time. You haven’t been to EPCOT if you haven’t been inside the ball!

Which is the newest ride at Disney’s EPCOT?

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. EPCOT is home to Walt Disney World’s second newest ride and EPCOT’s newest ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, which opened in May 2022.

A reverse launch roller coaster that rotates 360 degrees, one of the most amazing things about the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind ride is that it is a dark ride – an inside ride that is one of the biggest fully enclosed roller coasters in the world!

How do I ride Guardians of the Galaxy at EPCOT?

A ride on the Marvel-themed Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind no longer requires a free virtual queue reservation so you can queue for it now, or pay for Lightning Lane (a fast pass).

Make the effort to take a ride on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind a priority if you love fast-paced thrill rides. With its exciting music background and cool special effects as you are spun through the universe, this is one of our favourite Disney rides of all time!

EPCOT Genie+ & Lightning Lane pass

What are Genie+ and Lightning Lane passes?

These extra-cost digital fast passes use a separate ride entry with a shorter path to by-pass the normal stand-by lines. This will fast-track you to the head of the standby ride queue. Download the My Disney Experience app for free in the Apple Store or on Google Play to buy fast passes.

How early can I buy Disney EPCOT fast passes?

Genie+ passes – All guests can buy Genie+ on the Walt Disney World My Disney Experience app from 7am on the morning of your visit. You don’t have to be at the actual parks to buy it.

Lightning Lane pay to ride (only currently available for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind) – If you are a Disney hotel guest then you get early access from 7am on the morning of your visit to buy Lightning Lane on the Walt Disney World My Disney Experience app.  Other guests must wait until the park opens to buy them. Be quick! These will also sell out during the morning.

How much is EPCOT’s Genie+?

EPCOT’s Genie+ was USD$25 per person the day we visited – a Thursday on the 1st of June 2023.

How much is Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Lightning Lane?

It costs about USD$20 per person to buy Lightning Lane access for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, which is currently the only pay-to-ride ride at EPCOT.

Can you do all the rides at EPCOT in one day?

Yes you can, because we did! Here are all the rides at EPCOT in the order that we did them.

What ride should I do first at Disney’s EPCOT?

During early entry, it’s best to get a popular ride or two done first, as they will be even busier later on.

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is one of the most popular rides at EPCOT. As it was close to the Skyliner gondola park International Gateway entrance, we decided that this should be our first ride.

Although, very popular rides with standby lines like Test Track which is closer to the EPCOT main entrance or Frozen are also great first ride choices. We prioritised Ratatouille as more of a geographical popular ride choice for us – it would have taken us another ten or fifteen minutes to navigate the crowds to get to Test Track or Frozen Ever After, and by then the queue would be even longer.

Does EPCOT have fireworks?

Yes, EPCOT has it’s own fireworks show. We finished our last ride in time to watch the whole EPCOT Forever fireworks show just before closing time. The fireworks show is held over the central lake in the center of EPCOT, so it’s relatively easy to get a good spot if you sit down 30 minutes before.
