The new P&O Pacific Explorer cruise ship – take a look around!
We were very lucky to be invited to the P&O Cruises with Nickelodeon christening party for the stunning new cruise ship, the Pacific Explorer!
With the cruise ship parked at the International Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay in Sydney, it was hard to imagine a more beautiful place to host this state-of-the-art cruise ship. The Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House glinted in the blue of a perfect Sydney sunny day.
The Pacific Explorer Christening Party
We boarded Pacific Explorer early and were taken on an exciting tour of the ship. Nickelodeon characters were scattered about the ship at different points, delighting the 100 children on-board at every turn! There was dancing, gift bags, a sumptuous lunch and a whole lot of fun to be had!
Dora the Explorer, proclaimed God Mother of the Pacific Explorer, named the cruise ship officially, and cracked an enormous champagne bottle – full of Nickelodeon slime! It poured out, and right over the big boss of P&O Cruises at Carnival Australia, President Sture Myrmell – luckily, he took being covered in slime in very good part!
The ship itself has so many features which families will love – multiple swimming pools, amazing water slides, water-play areas, kids games rooms and lounges, gyms for mum and dad….the list goes on! There was even a flying-fox strung straight across the main deck and pool area – there looks to be so much to do on this amazing new cruise ship!
We vlogged our tour on-board the Pacific Explorer to show you what it’s like – so take a look around this magnificent ship with us in our exclusive video of the ship christening party event here…

The Let’s Go Mum family were invited guests to the P&O Cruises and Nickelodeon naming day party aboard the Pacific Explorer. As always, all opinions are our own.
