 How do I buy a Tokyo Disney Disability pass?

You can only buy a Tokyo Disneyland disability entrance ticket at the official Tokyo Disney Resort website or at an official Tokyo Disney Hotel ticket counter.

Where should I buy our other Tokyo Disney Tickets?

You can buy non-disability standard entrance tickets for the rest of your family or friends online also on the official website, or at the official third party discount seller Klook.

How do I enter Disneyland or DisneySea with my Disability ticket?

After buying your Disney entrance tickets, upon arrival at the Tokyo Disney park  produce your ticket barcode on your mobile phone or paper ticket.
You will need to produce proof of your disability to enter.

You will still need to Register inside the park at your first ride.

(Make sure all members of your party who may wish to ride with you – up to five people – are also present so they can also be noted as your ride group)

Are Tokyo Disney Resort disability tickets cheaper?

Yes, Tokyo Disney Resort Disability one day passes are cheaper than standard one day passes. They are around AUD$25 and USD$11 cheaper than standard Tokyo Disneyland day passes, or roughly 20% cheaper.

Your accompanying Carer can also buy a disability one day pass. Only one accompanying person may buy a disabled pass per disabled pass visitor.

Here are the current (August 2023) ticket prices for comparison:

Adult ticket price ¥6,800 Junior ¥5,600 Child ¥4,000

What certificate or paperwork do I need to prove I am disabled?

There isn’t a great deal of information, other than eligible certificates should be a “certificate for” their disability, including physical, developmental (neurodiverse such as Autism / ASD and ADHD), neurological, cognitive and intellectual / mental disabilities.
This implies official-issued documents such as government documents.

That said, there are numerous incidences of NDIS or Doctors letters that are accepted as proof for DAS at Tokyo Disneyland.

Australian Compaion & Carers Cards

Australian NSW Companion Cards and even Carers pension cards would have a strong case, particularly if they include a photograph. This is because they are issued by the state or federal governments.

What disability proof worked for us:

NDIS original paperwork for Australians carries weight – state that it is a government document.

Bring an accompanying doctor’s letter on their letterhead stating queuing may be difficult/not possible. MOST LIKELY this alone will work.

I asked a Cast Member if you can try to register with just a doctors letter and was met with some doubt. It can depend on who you register with!

Any kind of carers card, Australian Companion Card or pass with a photo would also be helpful.

UK Blue Cards

UK Blue Cards have been used with success due to them being a government issued identification card with photograph.

Japan has a photo pass system and may assume other countries do also. Explain that your government doesn’t issue the same.

Personally, if I only had a doctor’s letter as proof I would buy a regular Park entrance ticket and not a Disability entrance ticket – just in case the doctor’s letter is rejected as not enough proof (so that you don’t risk losing your entry ticket).

Do I need to take original certificates or can I take photocopies or digital scans?

Only take originals, as copies probably won’t be accepted. Officially they must be originals.

You should always carry your passport in Japan – it’s the law for tourists.

For Disney Disability Registration, you should bring photo id (so, your passport for example) if there is no photo id on your disability certificate or other proof – they probably won’t check it, but just in case.

Do I need to supply a Japanese translation of my disability certificate or medical letter?

No. Most don’t. There doesn’t seem to be a requirement for Japanese translations as then this would be a copy, so not admissable as proof.

That said, if my only documentation was a doctor’s letter, a translation may help strengthen your claim.

Can I buy Tokyo Disney multi-day disability tickets?

No. Disability tickets are one day passes only.

Is there Tokyo Disney Resort disabled ride access if I have already bought a standard ticket?

Yes. This is called the Disability Access Service pass. You can add this to your standard park access ticket by registering for the Disability Access Service add-on after you enter the park.

This is obtained by presenting a disability certificate or other acceptable documentation (see above) to one of several park locations, including any ride operator for your first ride. They will register you, your carer and your other group (family) members in the system width you so you can all ride together.

After you have registered for the first time you don’t need to do this process again that day. You can just request your DAS ride return time from ride operators at each ride.

Here are the Tokyo Disney Resort Disability Access Service registration locations:

Can I register for Disability Access Services for more than one day at a time?

The official website says you need to register each day at each park separately, on the day you attend. It is each day, each park.

Do I need a Carer with me to be registered for a Tokyo Disneyland disability pass?

Yes. If you have visual, mental, or developmental disabilities you must have an able-bodied person accompanying you in order to get a registered disabled pass.

You need one carer per disabled person for some rides like Space Mountain. So if you are a single parent and have two disabled children for example, or are two parents but are outnumbered with disabled children , consider registering only ONE disabled child if you can safely manage more than two on your own. The family group of up to five more people join you anyway.

Can my family or group board with me when I’m using my Disability Access Service (DAS)?

Yes. Up to five other people can board the ride with you when using your DAS. Up to nine people can go with you at a Character Greeting. You’ll need to have all their passes scanned with yours when entering the park with a disability ticket / registering for DAS.

From the Tokyo Disney website:

”At an attraction, this service is valid for up to six persons (yourself and five members of your party).”

How do I use a disability pass to skip the ride queue?

If you have bought a Tokyo Disney Resort Disability entrance ticket then once it is verified at the entrance gates then you will need to register again. After your initial registration at the first ride, reserve each ride by attending the ride and make yourself known to the ride queue attendants. You will receive a return time that equals the current queue wait time.

If you have a standard Park entry ticket, then you will need to Register for a Disability Access Pass at your first ride, once for that day.
After you are Registered, then you only need to make what is called a Disability Reservation or Return Time at each ride you want to go on.

Speak to the ride attendants first to Register and once your ticket is digitally linked as a disability pass (as will be your Carer’s and you’ll also need to present all the passes of the family or group members you’re visiting with) then – then after registration you only need to make a ride reservation by attending that ride and receiving a return time.

Do Tokyo Disney Cast Members speak English?

Not all cast members speak English, however cast members do have translation devices or access to them.

When requesting Disability Access to a ride it may be wise to use Google translate or translate a note into Japanese prior, to give or show attendants in case of language barriers.

What happens during the Tokyo Disney Disability Registration Process?

The process takes around ten-fifteen minutes and is a one-off procedure for that day in that park.

If you have a Tokyo Disney Resort Disability entrance ticket your papers will be checked at the front gates. You will still need to do your official DAS Registration at your first ride.

If you have a standard park entrance ticket then you enter the park as normal and register at your first ride.

You may need to queue to register, particularly if you are registering at a popular ride first-thing in the morning such as Beauty and the Beast. I would advise registering at a less popular ride with a shorter queue first.

Cast members will ask to see documentary proof of the disabled person’s disability (see above).

They will photograph the disabled person and register their pass. They will also register/scan the passes of all the accompanying family/friends, so make sure everyone is there for registration.

After registration you will make your first ride Disability Reservation.

How do you make a Disability ride reservation at each ride?

Seek out any ride queue Cast Member who will direct you to the appropriate Cast Member. They usually hold a light stick.

The Cast Member will check the disabled person’s photograph on their system and ask the Carer of the disabled person questions to make sure the disabled person will be able to physically ride the ride and also be able to safely exit the ride in an emergency.

Appropriate questions will also be written in English etc. on cards, and will be about sitting, walking and navigating stairs capabilities.

They may ask if the disabled person is capable of being able to walk or be supported by your Carer out of a ride for safely.

You will be given a return time to come back to the ride so that you don’t have to wait in the queue. The return time will exactly equal the current ride queue time as signposted – a wait time identical to the current wait time for that ride queue.

You will then be free to leave to spend that time elsewhere instead of standing in a queue.

This process is not regarded as a fast pass like a Tokyo Disney paid Premier Pass or the USA Genie+ pass, but a queue place holder.

Can we do other rides whilst waiting for our disability ride return time?

Yes you can provided you can make it back in time (strictly within 15 minutes of your return time).

You should be able to book other ride passes such as a Premier or Priority Pass – you can certainly try. We had some success but also some system blocks.

You can do other rides queuing as a normal park pass guest, however you can only use your Disability Pass one ride at a time, and only once per ride.

Where do I go at my ride queue return time?

You go to the ride Priority Lane – the same place you go to if you have a paid Premier Pass or a 40th Anniversary Priority Pass.

Same as the other Tokyo Disney passes, you will have a pass with barcode listed on you official Tokyo Disney Resort App.

When you return, scan the barcode of your disabled ticket holder’s pass FIRST at the Premier Access/Priority Pass lane. Cast members will need to be notified that you are disabled entries and verify your disabled persons first scan pass with their own device. Then all other members of your party/family group scan as normal.

What happens if I miss my return time or are running late?

You have up to 15 minutes ONLY after your return time passes to turn up to the ride. So you can arrive back up to fifteen minutes late after your stated DAS pass return time. Cast Members expect you to be on time. You cannot enter any earlier.

Will my Tokyo Disney Disabled Pass get me into Fantasy Springs?

Yes, Fantasy Springs is open to all and you can use your DAS pass on the rides there.

Can I use my DAS Pass to skip the queue for Fantasy Springs rides?

Yes, you can use your DAS pass for a return-time to use the Priority lanes.

What  Tokyo Disneyland Holiday Planning Facebook Group members say…

Okay I just did this last week.

You have to set it up each day at the park, at your first ride you need to use it.

At that time you will show your proof – being in US we showed a doctors letter.

They will scan tickets and get things set up for you. This will take at least five to ten minutes to do. And that’s if they don’t need to find someone else to do it.

After that it should be linked in the app and you’ll basically use it as a premier pass.

You will only have 30 minutes to use it after it is time.

At each ride they will have you confirm a series of saftey basically saying pass holder can evacuate in case of an emergency – they can walk down 200 stairs, climb a ladder, etc. Also that they can hold themselves up right m, things like that.

Next ride will be a little quicker but it still usually took 5 mins to get the return time, sometimes they had to find the right person, grab the book with instructions, etc.

I started keeping Google translate open and using the message “I need to get a disability access return time for my daughter.” Because asking verbally in English was not always immediately understood.

If you need a wheelchair it can get more complicated. We used a stroller as a wheelchair which was not always easy. – Cassie.

Our family is from the U.S. and just returned from Japan spending 4 days at Disneyland and DisneySea. We bought our tickets at full price and did not do a DAS discounted ticket. We used the DAS pass which allowed us to skip waiting in the queue line with everyone else but we still had to wait for the same amount of time outside the queue. To get the DAS pass we needed to show proof of my son’s ASD. To do this I had his primary care physician write a letter on her letterhead stating that my son has ASD and has a difficult time staying with the group and standing in line. Once inside the park, we went to the first attraction we wanted to ride and let them know we wanted to register for a DAS pass. They then asked to see the letter from his doctor and they scanned all of our tickets into a digital DAS pass that was now linked with our park tickets. We were then issued a return time. When that time came we would return to the Priority queue where our park tickets were scanned and we were admitted onto the attraction. To ride other attractions you then go to a cast member at each attraction you want to ride and ask for a DAS pass return time. The cast members have a transtator device which makes communicating with them really easy. They are all really helpful and once you do a few rides it becomes really easy. – Ann.

…we call it DAS disabilty access service. they will ask you to show proof (disability card, doctor’s note etc) that someone in your group has a disability.

after you enter the park, you go to any ride cast member and tell them that you will register for DAS. you show your proof and they take the picture of the person who has the disability. you do the registration once.

you have to tell the attraction cast member that you will use DAS, they will explain safety procedures and you get a return time.

you can do whatever you want while waiting for a return time. you can queue in line for a different ride. you can only use das for one ride at a time. – Group member.

Can I wait somewhere else instead of standing in line or queuing until boarding a ride?

Yes, if you are unable to stand or wait in a ride queue, there are separate ride waiting areas for conditions such as if you have a temporary disability (like a broken leg), are disabled, pregnant, wheelchair bound or elderly.

If you don’t have a DAS pass you will be separated from your group to wait in a special separate area and your group will wait in line as normal and then you can rejoin your party at their ride boarding time.

Can I bring food into Disneyland and DisneySea if we have strict dietary requirements?

Yes you can, and several park restaurants have microwaves available to you.

Are vegetarian meals available at Disney in Tokyo?

Yes, you can get vegetarian meals and a “Special Dietary Menu” at many park restaurants which avoid allergens.

Using a pram or stroller as a wheelchair

If you obtain a special sticker you can have your pram treated as a wheelchair which give you much closer access to rides. Like a wheelchair, staff will transport it to the end of rides for you to. You can also get access to special wheelchair viewing areas in theatres and at shows and parades.

Is there a special place for those in wheelchairs to view shows and parades?

Yes, and also for prams being used as wheelchairs. One group member has mentioned this area is open to all DAS pass holders. Contact nearby Cast Members to show you how and where to go to access it.

Can I use the Tokyo Disney Resort monorail or buses with a wheelchair?

Yes. There are elevators at each station, and carriage numbers 3 and 4 have spaces for wheelchairs. Staff can help with a ramp if necessary. Ramps are also available to board the free Disney Resort Cruiser bus service.

Also known as the Japan bullet train, this rapid, smooth mode of travel can seem confusing to book at first. Especially from overseas! But don’t worry – it’s really easy once you know how.

How do I book a Shinkansen from Australia?

Booking from Australia (this works for most international locations), I decided to trial both popular methods for our trip to Tokyo via Nagoya. I wanted to settle which Shinkansen booking method was easiest for tourists. Here’s how it went…

How do I book a seat on a Japan Shinkansen?

There are two popular methods for tourists to book a Japan Shinkansen seat.

• Online using an official partner booking service like Klook or KKDay. For this comparison we used Klook.
• Online using the official JR Smartex website

Which Shinkansen booking service is the best?

Out of the two major ways to book Shinkansen, my recommended choice for the easiest way to book a Shinkansen is using the Klook website. My second choice would be using the JR Smartex site. The end results are the same, but the processes are very different!

Who or what is Klook?

Klook is a huge, trusted booking company and an official third-party Shinkansen ticket seller. Klook is popular for booking attractions, transportation and accommodation. I have personally used Klook on many of our overseas trips and I now partner with them.

Why is Klook the best way to book a Shinkansen online?

Booking with Klook is much more user-friendly for tourists. The Klook website is easy to use and simple to understand. Users simply choose the date, then the time and type of Shinkansen, plus select tick boxes for your preferences, such as an Oversized Luggage Seat.

Klook will find your Japan bullet train seats for you and confirm soon after you book with your seat numbers.

My oversized luggage seats were confirmed in less than an hour. Whilst there can be a small difference in price, I found it outweighed the inconvenience of booking with the Japanese Shinkansen website.

Best of all, at the Shinkansen Station both tickets work the same.

What is the official Shinkansen booking website?

The official JR Shinkansen English booking website is called Smartex.

Why was Smartex my second best choice to book a Shinkansen?

The Smartex website took me a couple of nights of playing around to learn the steps to book. It first requires setting up a free membership account which holds your payment method separately. Then you need to login to the website to book. It’s only after you have logged in that you can search and book your Shinkansen tickets – and it logs out if you take too long – so you can find yourself back at the start several times if you take too long.

This more complex booking system was difficult to navigate, and I found myself fruitlessly searching for almost an hour until I stumbled across an obscure filter to find available oversized luggage seats.

After I booked, all was fine. The booking was immediate and confirmed via email. The QR codes aren’t able to be saved to your iphone Wallet like Klook’s are, but there is a separate Smartex App you can install.

Ultimately, learning how to book using Smartex took me a lot longer than Klook.

• Five minutes to book, an hour to have seats confirmed.
• Tickets are accessible both in the Klook app and can be saved in your iphone wallet.
• Klook tickets work the same as Smartex tickets – scan a QR Code at the gate
• You can pay in your own currency (so no exchange fees)
• You get important Klook information messages and reminders on your phone if you have the app downloaded

• Last minute bookings and changes not possible
• Changes cost a small fee and need to be re-confirmed
• Tickets can be more expensive

JR Smartex website Shinkansen booking advantages

• Bookings are immediate
• Booking changes are free, and are able to be made up to 4 minutes prior to departure time
• Tickets can be cheaper

JR Smartex website Shinkansen booking disadvantages

• A membership and then login was required before being able to even view the Shinkansen times and dates to book
• The website itself was difficult to understand and required several separate steps to book

Do both Klook and Smartex tickets work the same at the station?

Yes, both are tap-through QR Codes. You’ll need to also tap your Suica card or IC card first if you are transferring from another local train within the station (just like you would need to normally tap out of the station). There are staff at the Shinkansen gates to assist if you have any issues.

Shinkansen FAQs

Should I reserve a Shinkansen seat?

Yes, reserving Shinkansen seats is a good decision. If you reserve your Shinkansen seats, you’ll have pre booked seats together with your party. You will be able to relax when boarding, knowing that you have seats waiting for you, rather than having to board quickly to try and get seats together. If the Shinkansen is a busy one you may not even get a seat at all, as Shinkansens can be over-booked in unreserved cabins. (We’ve had this happen!)

In addition, if you wish to take your larger suitcases on board with you, you must reserve Oversized Luggage seats or pay a fine of 1,000JPY and have to sit with your bag in front of your knees.

Reserved Shinkansen seat disadvantages

• More expensive than unreserved

Reserved Shinkansen seat advantages

• You don’t need to rush onboard quickly to get seats together with your traveling party
• If the Shinkansen is overbooked, you know you have a seat
• You can book your large luggage to travel with you

Are Japanese bullet trains all the same?

No, there are three main types of Japan Shinkansen bullet trains.

• Nozomi – the Nozomi is the fastest Shinkansen with the least station stops. The Nozomi is the most frequent Shinkansen by far with 12 arriving per hour and is the best choice for the Shinkansen to Nagoya (Legoland Japan & Ghibli Park) or the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto and Shin Osaka.
• Hikari – the Hikari is the less frequent, second fastest Shinkansen with a few extra station stops. It is about an hour slower than the Nozomi.
• Kodama – the slowest Shinkansen that stops at all stations – good for rural city visits.

Are there different classes of travel on the Shinkansen?

Yes, there are usually a couple of unreserved seating carriages, and the rest are reserved seating split into two classes – Ordinary (Second Class) and Green (First Class) carriages.

The Green carriages are the more expensive service. Their seats are bigger with a footrest. The seat layout is two seats together either side of the aisle. There is a passenger service via attendant and you can order limited food and drink onboard via mobile order menu. There are some amenities such as receiving a washcloth upon boarding.

The Ordinary carriages are the standard service and have three seats on one side and two seats on the other per row. The Ordinary cars are still a very comfortable, clean and roomy Shinkansen service.

Can I use my JR Pass on a Shinkansen?

You can use your JR Pass for the Hikari and Kodama trains, but you need to buy an extra Mizuho ticket to ride the Nozomi train. This additional ticket is 4,960jpy and is available from a machine at the stations and covers all classes of travel.

When should I arrive at the Shinkansen station?

Tokyo, Shin Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya and other Shinkansen Stations are all large and busy, but they are well run and signposted. At the station, arrive about an hour before your train arrives so that you have plenty of time and are not rushed. Allow enough time to locate the Shinkansen area, scan in through the gates, find your platform, buy some snacks and locate where your reserved carriage doors will open for you to board.

How do I find the Shinkansens at the station?

When you arrive at your departure station, you’ll see the Shinkansens signs. Follow the Shinkansen signs to the special Shinkansen scan-in gates.

How do I scan my Shinkansen ticket?

At the main Shinkansen area gates, there are plenty of staff to help you at the scan in gates if you have any problems.

First tap your Suica card or train ticket if you arrived on a local train to “tap off” that train like you would if you were exiting the station.

Next you tap your booked Shinkansen QR Code which you received from Klook (remember you’ve probably saved it in your iphone wallet) or Smartex.

As you tap your Shinkansen QR Code a paper Seat Information slip will pop up. Take this out of the gate to take with you. This is to show any staff who may ask you for it on board the train (nobody did).

After you have successfully tapped in and retrieved you Seat Information slip, make your way to the information board inside the Shinkansen scan-in gates to check which platform to go to using your Shinkansen train number information provided with your ticket voucher, then proceed to your platform.

How do I know which Shinkansen to take at the Station?

Each Shinkansen bullet train has a service name and number which you will find on your booking and ticket, along with your carriage and seat number. This number is how you identify your train on the train station information board and train platform. “Nozomi 247” for example.

On the train platform your Shinkansen’s name and number will be on the big platform signs which list each pending Shinkansen’s time of arrival, and it will also be on a sign in front of and also on the side of the train itself.

How do I know where to board the Shinkansen?

Your carriage and seat number will be in your booking information. If you look you will see carriage number signs on the ground and on the gate – it will be on the train too when it arrives. Walk to your carriage boarding point ready to queue there around ten minutes before it’s time for your train to arrive. It may take you a couple of minutes to walk to the correct spot, so you may like to check where it is in advance, like an airport gate! Don’t worry, if you get mixed up – you can always walk to the correct carriage onboard. Shinkansen trains have carriages that are inter-connecting with automatic doors. There are staff circulating through the train too, who can help you if needed.

Will I have enough time to get onboard?

Yes, don’t worry! Although the Shinkansen’s are intimidatingly fast, you do get enough time to get on and get seated! You get about five minutes to board after the Shinkansen stops. There’s around ten minutes between each Shinkansen arriving at the station platforms. People generally queue to board their train right after the departure of the train before theirs. Don’t worry – if you’ve reserved your seats no one will take your seat or luggage space. You’ve paid for your spot!

Can I eat on the Shinkansen?

Yes, you can eat and drink on the Shinkansen. On the Shinkansen station platform, you’ll find vending machines plus small food stores where you can buy snacks, drinks and traditional Bento Boxes to take on board with you to eat.

Eki-ben (Bento Boxes for the train) are in disposable cardboard boxes and have cold rice and meat or vegetarian dishes. Bento Boxes are a fun part of the Shinkansen experience!

The Green car food service is the only onboard Nozomi/Hikari Shinkansen food available, and it is exclusive to 1st Class passengers. The online mobile order food service offers limited food and drinks available from a menu via a QR Code, such as coffee, ice cream and other snacks.

At each Shinkansen sear there are fold down tables to rest your laptop or to eat. You can even recline your seat – it’s like being on a plane but with more room!

Can I charge my phone on the Shinkansen?

Yes, there are power sockets for plugs onboard at every seat. Remember to take your actual Japan power plug and not just the USB or C charge cord.

Is there free wifi on the Shinkansen?

Yes there is free Wi-Fi on the Shinkansen in all carriages. Sign up is with an email. It’s easy to connect and works well.

Are there toilets on the Shinkansen?

Yes, there are toilets on the Shinkansen at the end of the carriages.

How long does the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Shin Osaka take?

It takes two and a half hours on the Shinkansen Nozomi service (fastest service) to get from Shin Osaka to Tokyo Station.

How long does it take to get from Osaka to Nagoya on the Shinkansen?

It takes 50 minutes to get to Nagoya from Shin Osaka on the Shinkansen. Nagoya is home to the Legoland Hotel and LEGOLAND Japan and the Ghibli Park theme park.

Which side of the Shinkansen can I see Mount Fuji from?

If you sit on the left side of the Shinkansen heading to Tokyo from Kyoto/Osaka, or the right side of the Shinkansen heading to Kyoto/Osaka you will see Mount Fuji! You can even pay extra to ensure you get one of those seats on Klook. You will need the weather to cooperate of course – Mount Fuji is notorious for hiding behind clouds!

How do I get from the Shinkansen at Tokyo Station to Tokyo Disney Resort?

Can I take luggage onboard the Shinkansen?

Yes, but you must reserve what are called oversize luggage seats. These are usually the back row of each reserved seat carriage. There is room for your suitcases to go behind your seat. If you don’t book these seats and only have normal reserved seats there is room for your suitase to go in front of your knees, however you may need to pay a fine. Tokyo Disney Resort has early entry to their Disney parks just like the USA does, but it’s a very different experience. Here’s all about Tokyo Disney’s Happy Entry 15 minutes early entry – what happens, how you get it and if it’s worth using.

KKDay Disney Admission tickets CAN be used with your Disney Hotel Happy Entry early entry pass!

What is Tokyo Disney Happy Entry 15 minutes early entry?

Tokyo Disney early entry (officially named “Happy Entry”) is a Special Entrance Pass given to all Tokyo Disney hotel guests for the morning of their stay/s and or check out. (not check in day). This allows them to bypass the main and much longer Tokyo Disney entrance queue and enter 15 minutes earlier.

The Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo Disney Sea early entry pass must accompany a valid park entrance ticket. The Fantasy Springs Happy Entry area requires a second slip of paper – a Proof Of Stay, as only Fantasy Springs guests may use the Fantasy Springs Happy Entry.

Guests line up at a special area to enter the Tokyo Disney park you have been given the 15 minutes early entry pass for (not all hotels give you both passes – more about that in a minute) 15 minutes before the general entry gates open.

Guests with an early entry pass and valid park ticket are scanned into the park in a group 15 minutes early, which allows you to book passes, get photos, hire prams, buy food and line up for your desired first ride earlier than the general entry guests who enter at Tokyo Disney parks official opening time. Some rides may even start unofficially operating earlier. Open services during the fifteen minutes are limited. For example, DisneySea’s Tower of Terror queue does not open until 9am.

All guests of Tokyo Disney Resort Hotels are given Happy Entry 15 mins early entry to either Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea.

Can I get early entry into Tokyo DisneySea direct from Miracosta Hotel?

No, you need to use the official park early entry for Happy Entry or General Entry until after 10am.

Can I get early entry into Tokyo DisneySea staying at Tokyo Disney Toy Story Hotel?

No, you may only use the direct entry through Fantasy Springs Hotel after 10am and before 9pm.

Where is Tokyo Disneyland Happy Entry early entry located?

Tokyo Disney Resort Happy Entries have special entrance areas which are separate to the general entry queues.

Where is the Fantasy Springs Hotel Happy Entry?

Fantasy Springs Hotel has two separate, special Happy Entrances.

The Fantasy Springs Hotel Grand Chateau Happy Entry (30mins early entry) entrance is located on the first floor, whilst the Fantasy Springs Hotel Happy Entry (15mins early entry) is the main Fantasy Springs Entrance for guests only, which passes underneath the hotel.

Which is the best DisneySea Happy Entry?

With its proximity to Fantasy Springs, the Fantasy Springs Hotel has the most advantageous Happy Entry for that area of DisneySea.

Whilst they are both DisneySea Happy Entries, Fantasy Springs Hotel gives its eligible guests a much bigger headstart on MiraCosta’s Happy Entry guests. This is because MiraCosta Hotel’s Happy Entry guests enter the park next to the main DisneySea entry, a good 15 to 20 minutes’ walk away from Fantasy Springs.

MiraCosta Happy Entry guests will still be making their way across the theme park whilst Fantasy Springs first Happy Entry guests may well be finishing their first and on to their second Fantasy Springs ride. Finally. Arriving yet another 15 minutes later will be the first main entry queue guests.

Therefore, the Fantasy Springs Hotel has the best Happy Entry for one of DisneySea’s most popular rides – Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey, followed by Rapunzel and Peter Pan. Due to its privileged location, the Fantasy Springs Hotel Happy Entry works out to be more like 30-45 minute DisneySea early start than 15 minutes!

Can I get Tokyo Disneyland Happy 15 early entry on check in day?

No, Happy Entry is not able to be used on check in day under any circumstances. Happy Entry passes are given at check in and won’t be given earlier. As check in is from 3pm in the afternoon, it is too late for early entry on the day of check in. Even if you are able to check in early, you won’t be given a Happy Entry pass for that day.

Can I still use the Fantasy Springs Hotel park entry on check in day?

Yes, even though you can’t get Happy Entry on check in day you are allowed to use the Fantasy Springs Hotel DisneySea entry on check in day. You will need to have a valid DisneySea admission ticket plus a Proof of Stay slip obtained from the Concierge Desk inside the hotel at pre-check in. You will need to queue and wait to enter DisneySea at official opening time using the Fantasy Springs Hotel park entry.

Do Tokyo Disneyland partner hotels give early entry?

No. Tokyo Disney partner hotels do offer a complimentary shuttle bus to the Tokyo Disney Resort parks, however they do not offer their guests the 15 minutes early entry pass to the Disney Parks.

Do Tokyo Disney Official Partner Hotels offer early entry?

No. Official Tokyo Disney Partner hotels do not offer Happy Entry. But these hotels shouldn’t be confused with the Tokyo Disney Hotels! The following hotels are called “official” Tokyo Disney hotels by Tokyo Disney. Confusing, isn’t it!

These hotels are the Official Tokyo Disney Hotels. They offer a free shuttle bus service to the Disney parks or monorail, plus a luggage delivery service to and from the Welcome Centre at the Mahaima JR Railway Station. They DO NOT offer Happy Entry (15 minutes early entry).

• Tokyo Bay Maihama Hotel First Resort
• Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel
• Tokyo Bay Maihama Hotel
• Hilton Tokyo Bay

Does Happy early Entry include children sharing a bed in Tokyo Disney Hotels?

Yes, children aged 4 and over bed sharing in Tokyo Disney Resort Hotels will also receive Happy Entry early entrance Special Entrance Passes. Children under 4 can accompany their parents in any case.

Are the rides open during the 15 minutes early entry at Tokyo Disney?

Sometimes, unofficially. DisneySea Fantasy Springs rides are regularly operational during Happy Entry. Often other rides aren’t open during the early entry period, however you can line up for them. Rides will officially commence operating at the official park opening time. Tower of Terror ride queue is closed during Happy Entry.

What is open during Happy Entry?

Tokyo Disney park services including Pram and wheelchair hire, the Tokyo Disney guest services information office and first aid will all be open.

Do Tokyo Disney Resort partner hotels give Happy Entry?

No. There are no hotels other than Tokyo Disney Resort hotels that offer the 15 minutes early entry.

Do Tokyo Disney Vacation Packages include Happy Entry?

No, Tokyo Disney Vacation Packages do not include Happy Entry. Happy Entry is a separate bonus attached to each Disney hotel and is not connected to any TDR Vacation Package. VP holders can only get Happy Entry for their first Vacation Package day if they book an extra night the night before their VP (with the appropriate Disney Hotel for their VP Day 1 park). Happy Entries are according to the hotel and not Vacation Packages, so also may not align with Day 2 of Vacation Packages if the VP Disney Hotel’s Happy Entry isn’t the correct one for their Day 2 Park.

Do I have to buy our Tokyo Disney tickets at the hotel to use the Happy Hour early entry pass?

No, you just need a valid park ticket (so you can buy park tickets from KKDay or Klook to use with your Happy Entry)

A common question from those who haven’t visited Tokyo Disney yet is Should I spend extra on Disney Premier Access ride passes? however after you have visited Tokyo Disney the question often changes to How can I get as many Tokyo Disney Premier Access passes as possible?!

In this guide I will explain how Disney ride fast passes – that is, Priority Passes & Premier Access Passes (otherwise known as DPA) ride passes work – and why they should be part of your Tokyo Disney Resort visit ride strategy!

How Tokyo Disney Resort passes work

Put simply…

1. Two months in advance – buy your Tokyo Disney Resort entrance tickets for your chosen park and date. These are also known as 1 day passes or passports.
2. In advance – Scan your group/family’s tickets all into one Tokyo Disney Resort (TDR) App account so that you can book passes as a group. Watch how to scan your tickets into the TDR App on our YouTube video. If you have purchased an official TDR hotel package, disregard this step.
3. On the day of your visit – after you have scanned inside the park entrance gates, immediately book your Priority Passes and Disney Premier Access passes using the TDR App. Book your most desired ride first. You cannot book them until you are inside the park. Popular ride recommendations: The Enchanted Tale of Beauty & the Beast and Anna & Elsa’s Frozen Journey

How do I scan a Tokyo Disney ticket into the App?

What is a Tokyo Disney Premier Access pass?

Tokyo Disney Resort Premier Access ride passes are paid individual ride fast passes which allow the holder to bypass the standard ride queue via an express laneway.

DPAs are available for a selection of the most popular rides at each of the Tokyo Disney Resort theme parks; Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea.

Skipping DPA passes for the sake of saving money at this point is really false economy. You’ve probably already spent several thousand dollars just to get to Tokyo Disney. Time is money, particularly on holiday.

It’s wise to factor at least a couple of ride DPAs into your overall Tokyo Disney budget. Often, you’ll be lucky to get more than a couple of DPA rides per day, anyhow. You’ll find a price breakdown towards the end of this guide to help you budget for your Tokyo Disney Parks visit.

When don’t I need to buy Premier Access passes?

Buying a Disney Premier Access pass is probably unnecessary if:

• you have purchased a Tokyo Disney Vacation Package, VIP tour or are staying in the Fantasy Springs Grande Chateau (all include ride passes).
• you have several days at the parks, and/or plenty of time to spare and don’t mind waiting in long queues.
• you want to experience a themed ride queue like Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey in Fantasy Springs in DisneySea.
• you have a big group/tight budget.
• you have no preference or interest in riding the theme park rides

What are Tokyo Disney 40th Anniversary Priority Passes?

Tokyo Disney 40th Anniversary Priority Passes are free ride fast passes you also book on the Tokyo Disney Resort App. They work the same as DPAs, but for different rides.

So can’t I just use the free Priority Passes instead of buying DPA’s?

No. 40th Anniversary Priority Passes are great, and you should absolutely book Priority Passes as well as DPAs – but they aren’t available for the most in-demand rides. No TDR rides offer both DPAs and Priority Passes. Many of the best rides only offer Premier Access as a way of bypassing their long standby queues.

How do I buy Disney Premier Access?

You buy Premier Access passes by booking a time period direct on the Tokyo Disney Resort official App after you have scanned into the park. You can watch a YouTube video of us booking a Tokyo DisneySea Premier Pass here.

What do I do if I can’t book a Premier Access or Priority Pass on the app?

If you have problems getting the app or your credit card working on the app there is an alternative. It’s possible to book ride passes in person from a shop near the main entry to each Tokyo Disney Resort Park for as long as they remain available. Just ask a Cast Member for directions.

When should I buy Premier Access & Priority Passes?

You should buy your ride passes as soon as possible after you have scanned into the park. On weekends or public holidays in particular it can increase demand.

Should I get early entry too?

For DisneySea, yes. It is usually advantageous to use Happy Entry or queue early to allow more time to secure the Premier Access pass you want in DisneySea. The most popular Premier Access passes such as Anna & Elsa’s Frozen Journey often run out quickly. It will also allow you to book the maximum amount of Priority Passes and DPAs possible during the day.

Can I delay buying Premier Access passes until later in the day?

Strategically this would probably be an error. To maximise your passes, it’s far more effective to book Priority Passes early and DPAs are not readily available later as they often run out fast. You usually get only a small window of time to snap the good ride Premier Access passes up. Particularly rides such as Frozen in DisneySea, and on busy days, Beauty and the Beast in Disneyland.

If you miss out, you may end up waiting 3 long hours in a queue as you watch Premier Access DPA pass holders walk right past you on their way down the fast lane.j

How many Premier Access Passes can I buy?

You aren’t limited in number to how many Disney Premier Access Passes you buy, but eventually most – if not all – DPAs sell out.

How long do I have to wait between booking ride passes?

There is also a minimum time delay between booking ride fast passes.

Disney Premier Access Pass minimum wait time between purchases. You can buy your next Premier Pass either:

• right after you have scanned into your previous Premier Access pass, or
• one hour after the previous Premier Access pass was purchased.

Disney 40th Anniversary Priority Pass minimum wait time between purchases. You can buy your next Priority Pass either:

• right after you have scanned into your previous Priority Pass, or
• two hours after the previous Priority Pass was purchased.

Can I buy Priority or Premier Access in advance?

No, you cannot buy Priority Passes or Premier Access Passes until after you have scanned into the park. You can select from different times later in the day if they are selectable on the App.

Can I buy ride passes for family or friends who have not yet arrived in the park?

No, you cannot buy Premier Access or Priority Passes (or make any other kind of booking) for anyone else who is not scanned into the park.

Do I have to buy a Tokyo Disney Premier Pass or Priority Passfor my under 4yo child?

No. If your child is aged under four years old, you do not have to buy or arrange any type of ride pass for them. They ride along with you for free providing they meet the ride height and age requirements.

How do I use a Tokyo Disney Premier or Priority Pass?

After booking on the official Tokyo Disney App, you will receive a 5 minute notification on the official Tokyo Disney App telling you to proceed to your booked pass ride.

When your ride ticket with code becomes visible on the app you can access the Priority Entrance of that ride. Be ready to scan your Pass barcode with the Cast Member. Walk along the Priority laneway to the head of the queue. You may need to scan your code again towards the end. You can watch how to use your Priority and Premier pass on our YouTube video here.

How many rides can I do with a Disney Premier or Priority pass?

Disney Premier Access and Priority Passes are only available for selected Tokyo Disney rides and will give you a once-only single use during the time period selected. You have a limited time period to use your Disney Premier Access pass.

Can I use my Premier Access or Priority Pass early?

Only marginally. You can use the pass when the actual photo Premier Access Pass or Priority ticket code appears visible in the app (usually within 5 minutes of the booked time). You won’t be allowed to use it any earlier.

Can I still use my ride pass if I arrive late?

The official answer would be no, however it can depend upon the ride attendants. If you have what is construed to be a valid reason then it’s possible that they may allow you to still use the pass even if you arrive outside of your allotted one-hour pass-use period. That said, I would recommend being on time to ensure that you don’t miss out.

Is Tokyo Disney Resort cheaper than the USA Disney parks?

Yes. The Tokyo Disney Resort parks admission price is comparatively lower than other Disney theme parks – even the cheaper Asian Disney theme parks. Even with the purchase of Premier Access passes the total often still remains cheaper than USA Disney parks due to their higher park admission fees.

How much is a ticket to Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea?

Tokyo Disney Resort 1 Day Passport admission ticket prices:

• Adult tickets range between 7,900 JPY – 10,900 JPY
• Junior tickets range between 6,600 JPY – 9,000 JPY
• Child tickets range between 4,700 JPY – 5,600 JPY
• Disabled adult tickets range between 6,500 JPY – 8,700 JPY
• Disabled Junior tickets range between 5,300 JPY – 7,200 JPY
• Disabled Child tickets range between 3,800 JPY – 4,400 JPY

Can you still get DPAs & Priority Passes with an Early Evening Passport?

I haven’t listed Early Evening Passport prices in this article as a pass ride strategy. Early Evening Passports allow access to the TDR parks from 3:00 p.m. on weekends and holidays, which is usually too late to expect there to be any DPAs or Priority Passes left available.

What is the price of a Disney Premier Access Pass?

The price of a DPA varies between 1,500 and 2,000 JPY each per person per ride.

Which rides are Tokyo Disneyland Premier Access rides?

• Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast Premier Access price: 2,000 JPY per access
• The Happy Ride with Baymax Premier Access price: 1,500 JPY per access

We experienced Christmas Eve at Tokyo Disneyland and Christmas Day at Tokyo DisneySea and stayed at official Tokyo Disney Hotels. Here’s our review of what we thought were the most memorable highlights and really fun things to do at Tokyo Disney Resort at Christmas.

01. Tokyo Disney Parks general festivities

Does Japan Disney celebrate Christmas?

Yes, Tokyo Disney does celebrate Christmas, so if you’re worried about Japan not celebrating Christmas in their Disney Parks, you couldn’t be more wrong! Christmas is an important time of year at both Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea.

Even though Christmas is one of Disney’s special seasons, the crowds aren’t much more than a normal Tokyo Disney Resort day!

Tokyo Disney Resort parks are decked out in their finest Christmas decorations throughout the park. There’s a huge Christmas Tree holding court in the World Bazaar as you enter Tokyo Disneyland and another in the American Waterfront area of DisneySea which are wonderful for Christmas photos!

Christmas Garlands abound, the flowerbed Mickey at the front entrance of Disneyland is adorned with a Christmas Hat – there’s no mistaking it’s the most wonderful time of the year!

Is there Christmas food at Disneyland?

Yes, there are seasonal snacks and treats for Christmas at both Tokyo Disney Parks.

We had a Christmas Eve Breakfast at Tokyo Disneyland where they offered special Christmas Breakfast Sets. You can watch our YouTube video of our Christmas Eve breakfast at Disneyland here. There are many more yummy special Christmas menu items on offer around the Parks.

If you intend on booking a special Tokyo Disney Resort restaurant for Christmas Day, be sure to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

As the sun goes down the Tokyo Disney theme parks Christmas decorations light up beautifully to create a magical Christmas world.

Of course you can’t miss the Tokyo Disneyland Sky Full Of Colours Fireworks Show at Christmas, it’s lovely to sit together in front of the beautifully lit Disney Castle as the lights synchronise with Disney music and colourful fireworks!

02 – Christmas in a Tokyo Disney Hotel

Staying on-site in a Disney Hotel is a great part of the festive fun. We stayed Christmas Eve in the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel in a Beauty And The Beast themed room and Christmas Night at the DisneySea MiraCosta Hotel in a Capitano Mickey Superior Room and it was just perfect!

Waking up Christmas Morning was so fun. We were so ready to leap out of bed, exchange a few travel-sized Christmas presents and hit the parks! The Tokyo Disneyland Hotel lobby decorations, Christmas music and the Tokyo Disney theme parks waiting for us out of the window all amplified the anticipation and excitement of Christmas ten-fold!

Does it cost more to stay at a Tokyo Disney Resort official hotel during the Christmas and New Year’s holiday season?

03. Tokyo Disney Christmas Parades

Christmas parades are the order of the day at both Tokyo Disney Resort parks. Tokyo Disneyland had a wonderful afternoon Christmas Stories Parade.

DisneySea had a special Santa Disney Christmas Greeting with Santa and various Disney Characters aboard a boat parading around the central Mediterranean Harbor.

At nighttime, Christmas is also incorporated into the shows and a special Tokyo Disneyland Electric Parade with Christmas music.

It all makes for such a wonderful Christmassy atmosphere that is unforgettable!

04. The Night Before Christmas Haunted Mansion overlay

I’m usually not a huge fan of ride overlays, but I have to admit the Holiday Nightmare overlay inspired by the Nightmare Before Christmas Movie of the Haunted Mansion got me wanting more!

The Tokyo DisneySea Haunted Mansion is the classic charming version of the ride. The Haunted Mansion theme on its own is really enjoyable, but it is even more fun when incorporating this fabulous overlay which extends from the grounds outside to all through the ride.

In addition to the Haunted Mansion you may also find an overlay in place on the Country Bear Theatre at Christmas time – Jingle Bell Jamboree. One thing’s for sure – any Disney ride overlay at Christmas can only add to the jolly Christmas atmosphere!

05. Christmas Merchandise

During the Christmas season you can also buy special Tokyo Disney Christmas merchandise.

These include warm Christmas sweaters, special Christmas Mickey Ears, Christmas outfit character plushies including Mickey and Minnie, postcards, pins and more!

The big problem with securing any seasonal Tokyo Disney seasonal merchandise is that it often sells out on the first few days of release! Any Tokyo Disney Resort seasonal merchandise is extremely popular with Japanese locals, so on the first few days of release store visits must be reserved through the Tokyo Disney App to limit numbers.

With any luck you may be able to get something at actual Christmas time like a special pair of Christmas Disney Ears, but chances are that the majority of Christmas items are sold out before December – and it’s very rare that they ever have second runs of any seasonal or special merchandise.

Tokyo Disney Christmas FAQs

When does the Tokyo Disney Christmas Season start?

The Tokyo Disney Resort official Christmas Season commences mid-November and finishes promptly at closing time the end of Christmas Day, December 25th. Overnight the Christmas theming is swapped out for the Tokyo Disney Resort New Year’s theme. So don’t arrive on Boxing Day hoping to still enjoy the Christmas festivities! Plan for your trip to fall between November 16 until December 25th to enjoy all the Tokyo Disney Christmas fun. (Don’t forget to join our Tokyo Disneyland Holiday Planning Facebook Group too!)

Are Tokyo Disney shows, rides and parades in English?

Yes and no. But it really shouldn’t affect your enjoyment at all! Disney is Disney around the world, but the vast majority of Tokyo Disney Park go-ers at Tokyo Disney are of course local Japanese with a minority of tourists mainly consisting of Korean and Chinese visitors. Even so, most Disney music in the parks, including Christmas shows and parades are played in their original English version. There is of course plenty of Japanese narration and dialogue, especially on the rides but they are just as fun as ever and bring home that you are on an exciting overseas trip!

So as you can see, a Christmas visit to Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea parks is well worth it! Start planning now for your amazing Tokyo Disney Christmas – it’s never too early and makes for an incredibly memorable Christmastime.

This article is all about Tokyo Disney’s entry queue – when you should join it, how long it takes – and if you can avoid it altogether.

There are often problems using international credit cards to pay on the official TDR website. Is the Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea line really that bad?

Now, about that main entry queue you’ve seen photos of which looks sooo long…don’t feel overwhelmed!

We’ve all seen the social media reels showing an incredibly long entrance queue into both Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea. It’s often played up as this endless-looking queue which will take all day to get to the head of to enter. The thing is, this portrayal is actually quite deceptive. These fear-mongering Tik Toks and Instagram reels may get lots of views – but it’s not telling you the real story.

Why is the Tokyo Disney Entry Queue so long?

Tokyo Disney parks are amongst the biggest – and most popular – Disney Parks in the world. They also happen to be located right next door to the most populated city in the world – over 37 million people live in Tokyo! You know where I’m going here…guess what one of their favourite things to do is? That’s right, it’s go to Disneyland. Hence, Tokyo Disney Resort is always busy – even in mid summer and the middle of winter!

The Tokyo Disney entry queue system works – and it doesn’t take nearly as long as you might think!

Luckily Japan knows exactly how to run equitable and effective queueing systems to manage crowds. You may have already experienced this with their train system. Respectful, neat lines of commuters waiting for those leaving the train to alight first, and only then taking their turn to board. Tokyo Disney is also respectful and efficient. A long, but steadily moving queue and stream of scanning guests at the entrance to get the largest number of park guests inside as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Why do people arrive at 6am in the morning to queue for DisneySea?

This is mainly for DisneySea. They want to either run for the Frozen ride queue to line up, or book Disney Premier Acces (DPA) ride passes to ride Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey (and then Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival) as soon as they enter DisneySea.

DPA ride passes for Frozen often run out soon after Happy Entry is complete. Therefore only the people near the head of the general entry queue may be successful in obtaining a Frozen ride pass. There can even be that there is an announcement around 9am that all the Frozen passes for the day have gone.

There can be random releases of Frozen ride passes throughout the day, however sometimes there are none at all, or they are snapped up very quickly.

Should I queue up early for Tokyo Disneyland?

Disneyland doesn’t require the same dedication as DisneySea. At the moment the demand is centred around Fantasy Springs in DisneySea because it was only opened last year (2025) and so it is regarded as new and exciting.

That said, even though Disneyland can be queued for later, there is still early queue-ers wanting to beat the crowds – or book the maximum number of Disney Premier Access (DPA) passes (particularly for the Beauty and the Beast ride) and the free 40th Anniversary Priority access passes for other selected Disneyland rides.

Unlike DisneySea and the focus on booking Fantasy Springs passes immediately, the people first in line will also be running for their favourite ride – most likely a DPA ride, and the majority heading for the Beauty and the Beast ride.

It should be noted that on busy days the Beauty and the Beast ride DPAs can run out quickly – around mid-morning. If you miss out you are left with just one option – queuing at the ride for around two hours.

Therefore if the Beauty and the Beast ride is your priority, avoid strolling into Disneyland at 10am on a weekend unless you don’t mind long queues, or you have a Vacation Package with a prior ride booking slot.

Why do the queues look so much bigger than the USA Disney parks?

The way that the Japanese system works is that the entry queue is where almost everyone going to into the park for that day is already waiting in line to enter. People will often arrive a few hours early and sit on mats, complete with friends and family.

Remember those photos and Tik Toks I talked about? Well they are usually taken of the queue before the park opens and the queue starts moving. So of course it looks like a great big queue that is going nowhere! The thing is that once the park opens the queue starts to steadily move – and it doesn’t stop until it’s completely gone – around an hour later, or mid-morning.

How long does the Tokyo Disney Resort queues take?

On a busy day, from start to finish the general morning opening time queue takes somewhere around an hour from start to finish. 

As a busy scenario example we have arrived at the very end of the queue right on opening time on a very busy weekend. When we arrived we met the end of the queue up on the walkway leading down from Maihama Station heading towards the Tokyo Disneyland monorail station archway entrance. It took us roughly 50 minutes to get from the end of the queue to inside the park at the entrance scan gate.

Once the general entry for the park opens at around 8:30-40am, those people waiting at the end of the queue will start moving (except for a few short pauses for other queues to merge) and will have entered into the parks by around 9:00am on average. On a really busy day, perhaps even 9:30am.

When is the best day to go to Tokyo Disneyland or DisneySea?

There is no perfect answer to this question, but this rough guide usually helps:

Avoid busy days if you can. (Crowd control calendars are often not reliable):

1. Avoid Weekends ❌
2. Choose Weekdays ✅ (try for Tuesday, Wednesday)
3. Avoid Public Holidays ❌ (especially Golden Week)

When is Golden Week in Japan?

In 2025, Tokyo’s Golden Week was from Tuesday, 29th of Apr 2025 to Monday, 5th of May 2025.

Tokyo’s Golden Week is a solid week of public holidays, and so many locals love to visit Tokyo Disney! Generally, Golden Week is the week from the end of April to early May each year. It’s a great time to avoid visiting, if you can.

You also need to check the dates of China and Korea Golden Weeks, as they represent the biggest tourist groups to visit Tokyo Disney Resort.

Is the inside of Tokyo Disney parks just as crowded as the entry queue?

No. It’s busy inside the parks for sure, but there is plenty of room for everyone. Think about it – the parks are massive inside, so everyone in that concentrated queue will be spread out throughout the park once they pass through the entrance gates. 

Is it one long entry queue at Tokyo Disneyland and Disney Sea?

Yes and no. At DisneySea’s main entrance it’s actually two entrances in forecourts either side of the globe courtyard. There’s not just one queue in the forecourts but several single queues separated by hedges leading to the entrance gates at its two major entrances. Other queues all merge into these single file queues.

At Disneyland, several queues merge at Security then filter through to a spacious open forecourt where people queue together in front of several general entrance ticket gates.

Are the Tokyo Disney queues safe for children?

Yes. Many families queue up for the Tokyo Disney parks. The queues are not pushy. People in Japan are very polite and well-ordered, especially when it comes to queueing.

Can we bring a pull along cart to Tokyo Disneyland?

Strollers are welcome, but pull along carts or push tricycles and scooters are not allowed.

What are people sitting on in the queue?

Most people take a thin plastic sheet or mat to sit on the ground when waiting in the lines or when waiting for parades.

Where can I buy a Tokyo Disney mat?

You can purchase them at Daiso and in the gift stores inside the parks.

Can I take a chair to Tokyo Disney parks?

Yes. Some people take portable, fold up plastic or canvas fold out chairs for queues – you can purchase these online in my Disney Hacks store at Amazon here.

Are there lockers for suitcases & other luggage outside of the Tokyo Disney Parks?

Yes. There are storage lockers of varying sizes right up to large suitcases located at Maihama Train Station near Disneyland.

You will also find lockers at the Monorail Stations outside the parks, and lockers just inside of the parks. You will need cash to exchange or multiple 100yn coins to use them.

Can I go early to hold a place in the line for my family or friends to join me later?

No, this is not common practice in Japan. Queue place-holding is against Tokyo Disney Resort rules and is clearly stated on their website.

Park guests all queue together as a group from the outset with their families and/or friends.

If you think it may not suit your group to arrive together early to queue, then please do consider queuing separately to enter the park at separate times, or arrive together later in the day to avoid the queue entirely.

Our Tokyo Disneyland Holiday Planning Facebook Group members have reported witnessing people being caught out and actually sent to the end of the line, whilst others get away with it.

Either way, queue saving and queue jumping is not a common occurrence in Japan. When visiting someone else’s country, it’s always common courtesy and good sense to follow local rules and customs.

What happens if we get caught joining someone in the queue later?

If you are caught joining a parent or friend in the queue later, you risk being sent to the back of the queue.

I see people queue jumping

They actually aren’t. People who have been there all morning take their kids to the toilet. They already have their place in line and return to it.

Are there toilets located outside of the Tokyo Disney entrance?

Yes there are accessible restrooms next to or near the entrances.

There are also several vending machines to buy water and snacks. You will find some near the Monorail Stations.

Can we leave the queue to go to the restrooms or give children a short walk?

Yes. Once you have all arrived together to establish your place in the queue, there is no issue with taking short breaks away from the queue to go to the toilet etc. provided someone stays at your spot, or you notify a nearby Cast Member.

What if we all need to temporarily leave our spot in the queue?

If you are a single parent or carer and need to accompany your child or disabled person with no one to stay in your place, you can notify a nearby cast member of your absence from your spot. There are plenty of attendants in the entrance queue area.

I have let my kids leave the queue to go to the monorail covered area to get out of a downpour of rain until it stopped and they could return to the queue again.

Can one of us queue and enter to book passes for everyone coming later?

No. Ride pass reservations cannot be booked for others who are not in the Tokyo Disney parks.

You can only make ride pass bookings for people who are already scanned into the park gates.

When all of your party have scanned inside the park, only then can they be included on ride pass reservations.

Can I pre book ride passes in advance from outside Tokyo Disney?

No. You cannot book ride passes whilst in the entrance queue or from anywhere outside of the Tokyo Disney parks, other than booking a Vacation Package which allows you to reserve a selection of popular rides in advance.

You must be scanned into the park and inside the gates to start making ride pass reservations if you are entering as a day-visitor.

Will my bag be searched at the Tokyo Disney gates?

The first step to entering Tokyo Disney is going through the security area. It’s mostly all automated with walk-through scanners, however if you have a larger bag – think back pack rather than handbag or fanny pack – you will be moved off to the side table for a quick bag search. Filtering larger bag searches off to the side keeps the entrance queue moving.

Are selfie sticks allowed at Tokyo Disney?

Yes but the rules say no extending of selfie sticks. Security at the Tokyo Disney do not confiscate selfie sticks at the gate like they do at California Disney. The Japanese system appears to trust you to do the right thing in this regard.

I personally have never had tripods or selfie sticks confiscated or mentioned during bag searches.

Can you take food into Tokyo Disney parks?

Yes, food is not confiscated at security or the scanning entrance gates at Tokyo Disney parks..

What happens at the Tokyo Disney entrance gates?

Once you have passed through security you walk a short distance to join the final short and rapid queues right at the entrance gates. It usually takes only a few minutes to get to the entrance gates and a moment to scan in.

What do I need to scan in through the Tokyo Disney entrance gates?

You need to present your park entrance ticket voucher QR Code in some form, or your Tokyo Disney App with your park tickets already within the app and visible.

Park-goers are scanned in like a supermarket check out counter. All you need to do is hold your QR Code or Tokyo Disney App at the scanner, it registers, and then you walk straight in.

Locals barely pause at the gates. It’s like liquid pouring through a bottle! Us clueless tourists are usually just a little slower, but don’t worry – attendants are there to help you if you have any problem. Your entrance should be very quick.

Can I use a screen shot of my QR Code to enter Tokyo Disney?

Yes you can use a QR code screen shot of your tickets. Be sure to turn up your phone brightness for good visibility.

Where is my Klook Voucher QR Code?

In the Klook App your Klook QR code voucher is stored under Bookings.

How do my Tokyo Disney Tickets get into the Tokyo Disney App?

This happens either automatically from an online Tokyo Disney website ticket purchase, or physically scanned into the app by you, earlier.

Do I need a print out to scan in to the Tokyo Disney parks?

No. But it can’t hurt to take one.

You can take a paper print out of your online QR Code from Klook, KKDay or other online sales website.

Should I scan my tickets into the app before I enter?

Yes you should scan your tickets into the Tokyo Disney App before you enter the park, either in the days before you go or even in the entrance queue to prepare for pass bookings once inside.

What if Inforget to You can still do it inside the parks, but this will slow you down.

Why should I scan my online ticket purchase into the Tokyo Disney App?

While it’s not essential, it is important to have your ticket scanned into the Tokyo Disney app before you enter so that you can quickly book ride passes on the app once you scan into the park, as passes can run out quickly. Also the sooner you book, the more passes you may be able to book throughout the day.

Do children have to have their own phone to scan into Tokyo Disney?

No, children don’t have to have a separate device. The parent can stand at the gate scanner and scan for each family member as they enter, and then scan themselves in last. One device (and Disney account) is fine to use to scan the whole family through the entrance gates. You can do everything for them including book passes by scanning everyone’s tickets into your Tokyo Disney App.

Do I need my passport to enter Tokyo Disneyland or DisneySea?

Yes. There is no general passport check at the Tokyo Disney park entrances, however you should have it with you.

If there is a minor child under the age of four a passport may be useful to prove their age (so that they can get in for free).

Also, if you encounter a problem with your ticket at the gate, or have a Disabled Entry Ticket (and apply for a Disabled ride pass inside), your passport may be asked for to prove your identity.

Did you know all tourists in Japan must carry their passport with them?

An important note is that all tourists visiting Japan must carry their passport with them at all times. If you don’t, you are breaking the law.

What if I have a Tokyo Disney Disability entrance ticket?

There can also be a hold-up at the entrance gates whilst they check your proof of disability paperwork if you have purchased a Tokyo Disney Disabled entry ticket – see more about that here.

Is there a shorter queue or a separate entrance for the disabled?

No. As mentioned, there is a cheaper Disability entrance ticket available, and also a return-time disability ride system inside the parks, however there is no skip-the-line system for the entrance queue. When you finally reach the entrance gates they can open a wider gate for wheel chairs (and strollers) to pass through at the Tokyo Disney gates.

How can I skip the long Tokyo Disney entrance queue?

Get Tokyo Disney Happy Entry, or arrive well after opening time.

How do I get Tokyo Disney Happy Entry?

Stay at a Disney Hotel. Disney prioritises it’s guests staying at official Disney properties first. Disney hotel guests are offered early, or “Happy Entry” into the parks for free. Happy Entry allows you to bypass the entire main entry queue and join a much smaller one which will open early to get you inside during the fifteen minutes prior to the official opening time. Neat, huh?

What time should I arrive for Happy Entry?

For the two main Happy Entry queues (Disneyland and DisneySea front entrances) it’s still wise to arrive about an hour earlier than the time printed on your Happy Entry paper ticket. That way you can make good use of those fifteen minutes!

You can always opt to arrive right on time and still stroll in a bit earlier than everyone else in the main queue. Don’t leave it too long though, because you may miss out! The Happy Entry queue eventually gets taken over by the main queue at opening time.

Is the Disney Fantasy Springs Hotel Happy Entry location different?

Yes. For the Disney Fantasy Springs Hotel Happy Entries, you can be a bit more relaxed! There are two Fantasy Springs Hotel Happy Entries, and they should both be a much less crowded. They are a much easier way to enter Fantasy Springs as you are already right there, and so will get a further head start on everyone (because they will need to get across the park from the front entrance to the Fantasy Springs entrance). You will still need to book ride passes if you are staying as an accommodation-only Fantasy Springs Hotel booking and not a Vacation Package with included ride passes.

Which hotels have DisneySea Happy Entry?

Different hotels offer different park Happy Entry access – even if you have a Vacation Package. Basically, most Disney hotels offer Disneyland Happy Entry and the most expensive hotels also offer DisneySea Happy Entry. As it currently stands in late 2025 (and this can and does change), Disney Ambassador (until September 2025), Fantasy Springs Hotel and Disney Miracosta all offer both Tokyo Disney Sea and Tokyo Disneyland Happy Entries.

Even if you only book in to a Disney hotel for one night the day before your park day, it’s totally worth it to get Happy Entry and avoid the long queues and early start to get the best ride passes before everyone else.

Toy Story guests special Disney Sea entrance

Toy Story guests can use the Fantasy Springs entrance to DisneySea after 10am, however as the main queue has cleared by then this isn’t skipping queue.

Should I use the Toy Story 10am entrance?

Maybe. If you aren’t in a rush to get passes or use all of your time during the day effectively, yes the 10am entrance is a great short cut to DisneySea.

As the general queue has cleared from the main entrances by 10am the Toy Story 10am access is no advantage in morning ride pass maximising.

How can I skip the queue without Happy Entry?

If you aren’t staying at a Disney Hotel and would like to skip waiting in line, then you’ll need to arrive well after opening time. Eventually the queue filters through and leaves a much smaller queue behind.

Can I avoid the Tokyo DisneySea queue by entering from the Miracosta Hotel?

No, you need to use the official park Happy Entry early entrance or main entrance until 10am when the Miracosta dedicated park entrance opens.

What time should I arrive at Tokyo Disney to avoid the queue?

It depends on if the day is busy or not. Usually if you arrive somewhere around 9:30am to 10:30am onwards you are clear to go through security and enter the parks fairly quickly – it will probably take anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes to get inside Tokyo Disney, providing the opening time queue has been fully cleared.

Why should I arrive at Tokyo Disney Parks early?

If you arrive at Tokyo Disney late – that is, mid morning onwards –  there is a much higher chance of missing out on the “best” rides, as the most popular rides offer limited reservations. These are available in the form of Premier Access (paid) and Priority Passes (free). These ride passes can only be booked once you are within the park, and are released on the Tokyo Disney App first thing in the morning from Happy Entry time until they run out.

Early entry, whether it’s via Happy Entry or the first group of main queue entrants becomes very important to secure DisneySea’s Frozen Fantasy Springs DPA ride pass, unless you are a Vacation Package holder with pre-booked rides. When do Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey Premier ride passes usually run out?

It’s not unusual for Tokyo DisneySea to announce that all Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey ride passes have finished for the day at around 9am. Yes – right at park opening. Happy Entry snaps most of them up, leaving just a few behind for the general queue.

When do The Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast ride passes usually run out?

Even Tokyo Disneyland’s famous Beauty and the Beast ride passes regularly run out around mid-morning too.

If you have missed out on the morning DPA passes, all you can do is either queue or refresh the Tokyo Disney App throughout the day in the hopes that some random ride passes appear – which they do occasionally! Be ready, because if they do appear they also tend to get snapped up very quickly.

If your flight arrives early into Tokyo (or you just have a free day on your hands), it can leave you wondering how to fill that time in the Tokyo Disney area – at least until you can go and get comfy at your hotel!

We’ve thoroughly explored the Tokyo Bay area during our numerous trips to Japan and have some great rest-day suggestions for you to try!

These ideas will help you recharge your travel batteries and ease you into your new time zone – or throw you straight into the fun zone!

First things first – Can I leave my luggage at the hotel?

Yes, you can leave your luggage at your Tokyo Bay booked hotel. If you’ve just arrived or just checked out, you don’t want to have to drag your bags around with you all day!

Every official Disney and Disney partner hotel plus many others at Tokyo Bay have baggage storage areas. You can leave your bags with them from very early in the morning until late on the day of your check in or check out.

You can even leave your luggage at the Welcome Center next door to Maihama Train Station for most official Disney and partner hotels. They will transport them to your hotel for free.

Alternatively, you can send your bags direct to and from the airports.

So, drop your bags with the concierge of your hotel and go have fun!

What is there to do around Tokyo Disneyland?

Here are my top recommendations of fun things to do in the Tokyo Disney bubble…

01.Go to the Tokyo Disney Parks!

So, it’s supposed to be a rest day, but the parks are calling your name… If you suddenly decide you want to go to the parks on your planned day off, just do it! You can go on the same day to the Tokyo Disneyland or DisneySea theme parks. No prior reservation is needed. You just need to get yourself some tickets.

Can I buy Tokyo Disney Parks tickets at the gate?

No, Tokyo Disney Resort tickets aren’t available to buy at the parks, so head online to book yourself some digital Tokyo Disney entrance tickets. If you don’t have an eSim in your phone in Japan yet, you can get one online here or use the free Wi-Fi at the many hotels or shops around the parks.

Can I get a Tokyo Disneyland half day ticket?

Yes you can! You can buy Early Evening from 3pm on weekends and holidays, and Weeknight Passports from 5pm on weekdays to either Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea. Tokyo Disney Resort do regularly change what kinds of tickets they have available, so it’s best to check their website ticket list here.

I do recommend comparing the price of a Tokyo Disney night or afternoon ticket to a full day park ticket. It can often work out to be of more value to purchase a full day park ticket as it is not much more money for significantly more time in the park.

Tokyo Disney area shopping

There’s a whole lot of shops to check out around the Tokyo Disney parks. Whilst there isn’t a Disney Springs or Downtown Disney area there is the Tokyo Disney’s closest equivalent, which is the Ikspiari Shopping Mall. You can also venture to the surrounding official Disney stores to get your Disney ears early and save battling in the park gift stores on your Disney Park days!

02.Go to Ikspiari Shopping Mall

Take a ride on the Tokyo Disney Monorail to the Resort Gateway Station – or if you are staying at the Disney Ambassador Hotel, just walk outside – to explore the multi-level Ikspiari shopping mall.

Where is Ikspiari located?

Ikspiari Shopping Centre is located at the Resort Gateway monorail station, next to the Maihama Train Station. There you’ll find a Cinema, a USA Disney store and over 140+ retail stores, restaurants, a supermarket, newsagent, pharmacy and more.

The Ikspiari Disney Store

There are two main types of Disney Stores in Tokyo. Tokyo Disney Resort officially owned stores, and USA Disney owned stores.

The Ikspiari Disney Store is the American Disney owned type, and is well worth a look. You’ll find lots of USA merchandise and some Japan exclusive items, but no Tokyo Disney Resort parks merchandise there.

Are there restaurants at Ikspiari Mall?

Yes, Ikspiari offers many different types of restaurants and cafes. These include traditional Japanese, a yummy Hawaiian upstairs and a very good value Italian on the Ambassador side. You’ll find several popular USA food franchises at Ikspiari too, including a McDonalds family restaurant, a Starbucks complete with souvenir mugs, and a fun Rain Forest Cafe.

The Ikspiari Rain Forest Cafe

Rainforest Cafes are fun, jungle themed restaurants. Amongst the jungle foliage of the Ikspiari Rain Forest Cafe you’ll find lots of animated jungle animals and sound effects.

The Rain Forest cafe features pretend rainstorm sound and light effects, including lightning flashes and rolling thunder. Although the overall effect isn’t meant to be a scary one, it may not suit those members of the family who are sensitive to light and sound.

If you’re Aussies like us and haven’t experienced a Rainforest Cafe before, you may find them just as fun to eat at as we do! They can be great for special celebrations such as kid’s birthday too, as they do a very fancy chocolate cake!

The Ikspiari Rain Forest Cafe is the only one you’ll find in Japan, and they take walk-ins without too much of a wait time.

The Ikspiari Shopping Mall is a fun shopping experience where you can easily fill in a couple of hours – and feed the troops!

03.Shop at Bon Voyage Disney Store

Go official Tokyo Disney merchandise shopping at Bon Voyage. Whilst the Disney store in Ikspiari is run by American Disney (and so has no official Tokyo Disney Parks merchandise), nearby to Ikspiari you’ll find the genuine article.

Where is Tokyo Disney Bon Voyage located?

The Tokyo Disney Bon Voyage gift store is located between Tokyo Disneyland and the Maihama Train Station – about 5 minutes’ walk from both, along the upper walkway. You can’t miss it – it has a huge red archway!

Inside you won’t find absolutely everything available in the Tokyo Disney parks, but you will find a great range of official Tokyo Disney Resort merchandise. As the store is located outside of the Disney Parks, this is a great way to check out what’s available inside the parks or get some extra items after your park days.

In addition to Bon Voyage, you’ll also find smaller official Tokyo Disney merchandise stores inside all of the official Tokyo Disney Hotels plus several of the official partner hotels like the Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay, Hilton Tokyo Bay and the Grand Nikko Tokyo Bay.

You can’t get these items outside the parks!

Be warned that you won’t find any Popcorn Buckets outside of the Tokyo Disney Parks, or Duffy Bears or any of their accessories outside of DisneySea!

04.Explore the Tokyo Disney Hotels

Another really fun thing to do on your park day off is go and explore the official Tokyo Disney Resort Hotels! You can easily walk or catch the monorail or shuttle buses to get to them, and all of them are beautifully themed. Each hotel has their own gift store and also a convenience store inside where you can purchase light meals and snacks.

Which Tokyo Disney Resort Hotels can you visit?

You can go inside most of the official Tokyo Disney Resort Hotels, with two restricted to guests only.

Visitors can go into the lobbies and shops inside the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel, the Disney MiraCosta Hotel and the Ambassador Hotel.

All three of these hotels are quite lovely and worth a visit. Their Disney gift stores have similar merchandise to Bon Voyage with some unique merchandise. The Disneyland Hotel gift store, for example, has a wide range of little girl’s princess dresses, shoes and accessories.

The Tokyo Disney Celebration Hotel is also free to visit and has some nice gardens, small stores and lobby installations, however as it is located outside the Tokyo Disney Resort area you would need to catch the 20 minute shuttle bus just to get there.

Can I eat at any of the Tokyo Disney Hotel restaurants?

The Tokyo Disneyland Hotel, DisneySea MiraCosta Hotel and Disney Ambassador Hotel restaurants are all open for bookings to non-hotel guests. That said, they can be very difficult to get a reservation in, as most have been booked for months in advance. Even so, walk up bookings are possible – so give it a try! We have successfully obtained same-day bookings at both Chef Mickey at the Disney Ambassador Hotel and The Oceano at DisneySea MiraCosta Hotel.

What hotel is Chef Mickey in?

Tokyo Disney’s Chef Mickey restaurant is located inside the Ambassador Hotel. You may manage to get lucky and snag a walk-in booking. This is the only character restaurant outside of the Tokyo Disney parks, and Mickey Mouse will visit your table for one photograph with you during your buffet meal dining service.

Which DisneySea restaurant can I watch the night show in?

If you can manage to get a walk-in booking at the Oceano Hotel inside the MiraCosta Hotel in the evening, you can watch the DisneySea Sea of Dreams night show spectacular from their balcony – no ticket required! Try to book in person at the restaurant as early as possible. If you have no luck finding a booking, you can still have a peep into DisneySea through the lower staircase window off the MiraCosta main foyer!

Which Tokyo Disney Hotels are closed to visitors?

Tokyo Disney Resort Hotels restricted to guests only are the Disney Toy Story Hotel and the Disney Fantasy Springs Hotel.

The Toy Story Hotel in particular has some wonderful outdoor character installations and a very fun theme inside too. It’s well-worth a stay if you can get a room reservation.

05.Go for a ride on the Tokyo Disney Monorail!

Where does the Tokyo Disney Resort monorail go?

The Disney Resort Line Monorail runs in a large one-way circuit around the Tokyo Disney Parks and Hotels area.

How long does the Tokyo Disney Monorail take?

The Tokyo Disney monorail takes approximately 13 minutes to complete the whole Disney Resort Line monorail circuit, including stops at all four stations – Resort Gateway Station, Tokyo Disneyland Station, Bayside Station and Tokyo DisneySea Station.

Is the Tokyo Disney Monorail free?

No, the Tokyo Disney monorail isn’t free, so you’ll need to buy a ticket at the stations (JPY cash needed at all except for Resort Gateway which accepts credit cards at the window) or use your Suica IC card to ride it.
Once you’ve bought your ticket and boarded you can joyride on the monorail for as long as you like! On this Disney Monorail you can also sit right up front for a great view!

How much does a Tokyo Disney Monorail ticket cost?

The price for a single ride on the Tokyo Disney Monorail is ¥300 for an adult (12 and over) and ¥150 for a child (11 and under). Cash (Japanese Yen), Pasmo, Suica and several other Japan Train Cards are accepted for payment. Credit Card is accepted at the customer ticket window at the Resort Gateway Station only. Up to two children under the age of six may ride free per paying adult and infants under the age of one ride free.

Trains from Haneda Airport to Tokyo Disney

Haneda Airport’s Keikyu Tokyo Train Line and Tokyo Monorail Line both link into the main Yamanote JR loop line which encircles Tokyo. From there you can change at Tokyo Station for the Keiyo Line to Disneyland at Maihama Station. The whole train trip takes about 50 minutes.

Can I buy a Suica IC Card at Haneda Airport?

Yes, you can buy a Suica IC train card at Haneda Airport at the JR Rail office at the Airport train station. You can also pre-order a Suica Card from Klook to pick up at Haneda Airport. It’s a good idea to buy a train travel card like a Welcome Suica Card and put credit on it if you will be catching trains in Tokyo during your visit. Otherwise you can buy single trip tickets from the machines which have English options. The Suica Card will also work with the Tokyo Disney Monorail.

What if my flight arrives late at Haneda Airport?

If your flight arrives at Haneda Airport late transport options become less frequent. You are probably best to pre-book a Private car to your Tokyo Hotel.

Yes, you can buy a Suica IC train card at Narita Airport Station at the JR Rail office. How do I get to Downtown Tokyo from Narita Airport?

There are two main express train types into Tokyo at Narita Airport.

The fastest way into central Tokyo at Ueno from Narita is via the Keisei Skyliner express train.

Catch the Keisei Skyliner train to Ueno

The electric Keisei Skyliner is a fast, comfortable uninterrupted ride to Nippori (35 mins) to change to the JR Line, or Ueno (45 mins) in downtown Tokyo. You can save 10% off onsite prices by booking online on Klook or buy a ticket at the Keisei Office for the Skyliner electric train to Ueno.

Catch the JR N’EX train to Shibuya and Shinjuku

The JR N’EX Narita Express train is a direct and economical train into Tokyo. Its line goes to Tokyo Station (Just over 1 hour) and then both Shibuya and Shinjuku.

You can also take a Willer Bus etc. to Tokyo Station and catch a train or bus to the different Tokyo wards or Tokyo Disney from there. This can be one of the most economical choices.

There are also direct Limo buses available from the airport to different Tokyo city areas such as Shinjuku, Ikebukuro and Akihabara, and also Tokyo Disney.
