Which is the cheapest Tokyo Disney Hotel?

The cheapest hotel Tokyo Disney Hotel is the Disney Celebration Hotel.

The Tokyo Disney Celebration Hotel is actually two separate hotels located across the road from each other.

Whilst both Celebration Hotels are structurally similar and offer the same rooms and services, the inside theming is quite different.

Are Tokyo Disney Celebration Wish and Discover hotels the same?

Apart from their colour, from the street both sides of the Celebration Hotel look the same. Both complexes feature an internal courtyard and the same basic layout. Both hotel sides offer twin check in and ticketing desks, breakfast restaurants, general guest services and facilities.

What is the difference between Celebration Wish and Celebration Discover hotels?

Disney Celebration Discover Hotel

Disney Celebration Discover Hotel

The main difference between the two Celebration Hotel sides is theming. Each side features theming from a different Tokyo Disney Park. The quality of theming when compared with the more expensive Tokyo Disney hotels is basic, but is still a charming option that will have the little kids excited for their Disney stay.

Disney Celebration Wish hotel

The Disney Celebration Wish Hotel has fairy-tale themes

The Disney Celebration Wish Hotel has fairy-tale themes

The Disney Celebration Wish hotel is officially themed around wishes and dreams – which lends to predominant theming around Tokyo Disneyland. Think fairy-tales, classic Disney rides highlighted in small glass cases on pedestals and more.

Wish presents as perhaps the most elaborate complex. Whilst both sides of Celebration have internal garden courtyards, Wish’s cream coloured building features an internal, character-filled courtyard of topiary trees which illuminate at night.

The main foyer features Minnie Mouse sitting in the midst of a tea cup installation which is a great photo opportunity. The rest of the foyer is adorned with stylised Disneyland characters and scenes.

Guest rooms and public areas such as corridors and elevators are themed in a Tokyo Disneyland fairy-tale style.

The Disney Celebration Discover Hotel entrance

Disney Celebration Discover hotel

The Disney Celebration Discover hotel is officially themed around adventure and discovery – which allows for predominantly Disney Sea theming. (Strictly speaking, our room’s floor in Discover featured Stitch who is the main character of the show in the Tiki Room inside of Tokyo Disneyland!).

Discover’s foyer presents as more low-key than Celebration Wish. Discover’s pale pink-coloured building’s courtyard is a more wild garden with Disney installations such as a small Pirate Ship.

Disney Celebration Discover Hotel

The main foyer is more adventure-themed than Wish and features Mickey Mouse with a large canoe installation for a fun photo opportunity. The foyer also features much of Disney Sea rides and characters with a distinctly dystopian feel, including Journey to the Center of the Earth and 2000 Leagues Under the Sea ride miniature features inside small glass cases on pedestals.

Guest rooms and public areas such as corridors and elevators are themed in a Tokyo Disney Sea adventure style.

How much is the Disney Celebration Hotel price per night?

Disney Celebration Hotel costs from 21,500 Japanese Yen a night for two adults and two children in a standard room containing four standard beds.

Tokyo Disney Resort rates the Celebration Hotel as a Value class hotel, the one and only Value hotel of all the Tokyo Disney Resort hotels.

What is a Disney Celebration hotel room like?

We stayed two nights at the Celebration Hotel, one night in each hotel.

Disney Celebration Discover Hotel Room

Our Celebration Discover room was colourfully themed (in a budget way) with a printed material half-wall panel running the length of one wall displaying Disney Sea geographic features such as the volcano, harbour and characters. The room also had themed carpet.

There was a small balcony with a view of the surrounding neighbourhood and the ocean in the distance. (It’s best to ignore the Ocean side references when booking your Celebration Hotel room. The views from the Celebration hotel with windows facing to the outside is urban at best with only distant views of the ocean)

Our Celebration Wish room was a Superior Room and so slightly larger than our Discover room. It was colourfully themed (in a budget way) with a printed material half-wall panel running the length of one wall displaying Disneyland and its characters. There was also themed carpeting.

How big are Twin Beds in Tokyo Disney Hotels?

This can vary from Tokyo Disney Hotel to Hotel, depending on their price.

Both of our Celebration room bookings slept 4 people, and the sleeping arrangements consisted of two single beds and two Day Beds.

Twin Beds at Tokyo Disney should not to be confused with a twin or double bed in Australia that holds two adults. The Tokyo Disney Twin Bed is a large single bed which comfortable fits one adult-sized person, and is usually big enough to bedshare with a small child. Bedshare is allowed with children 11 and under at Tokyo Disney Hotels, however larger children in a twin bed may be a bit of a squeeze!

Our Celebration Hotel Discover Room

Our Celebration Hotel Discover Room

At the Celebration Hotel beds are the smallest and least generous version single beds of all the Tokyo Disney Hotels. All beds come with one small pillow instead of two and to bedshare with a child could be challenging due to the bed sizes.

Are Day Beds at the Celebration Hotel big enough for adults?

Yes. The remaining beds in our Celebration rooms were two day beds, which are large enough to accommodate one adult each. You’ll find the pillow for the day beds underneath the bed in a plastic crate. There are no extra pillows or blankets. This is the same for day beds and trundle beds at most Tokyo Disney Hotels.

Other furniture in our Disney Celebration hotel rooms included a dresser with a medium sized TV and telephone on it and housing a safe, small bar fridge and tea and coffee facilities. Inside the drawers were four sets of freshly laundered pyjamas.

A suitcase stand stood next to the TV stand, a small table, two hanging hooks for clothes (no wardrobe or cupboard),

All Tokyo Disney Hotel TVs includes the Disney+ Channel.

Opposite the twin beds was a TV stand also housing the fridge, safe and tea and coffee facilities.

What is a Disney Celebration bathroom ensuite like?

Disney Celebration ensuites are small in size and are made up of three small areas.

There’s a separate toilet with all the bidet cleaning buttons you find on most Japan toilets.

A small vanity area contains one hand basin countertop with a mirror, soap and themed packaged plastic Disney toiletries such as toothbrushes and hair brushes. Disappointingly, the toiletry items inside the Disney themed packets are not Disney printed as well. A hair dryer is also supplied.

A third small room opening off the bathroom vanity area reveals a small half-sized deep bath and handheld shower. In many budget Japanese hotels you will find shower rooms rather than a separate shower cubicle. These can be challenging to get used to at first, but once you work them out you soon find they drain very efficiently. Some of us preferred using the bath each day instead of grappling with the hand held shower nozzle!

Are Celebration hotel rooms comfortable?

The Celebration rooms are decorated, but basic. Comfortable but with a spartan air of no extra frills. The beds are overly firm, as are most of the Tokyo Disney Hotel beds. The bathrooms are adequate but cramped and old-fashioned. This is the price you pay for the far lower lodging price per night, and this is what you also need to take into account before making your booking.

What is the Disney Celebration breakfast like?

Celebration Hotel breakfast restaurant cafes

Celebration Hotel breakfast restaurant cafe on the Discover side

Both Celebration Wish and Discover have their own large breakfast restaurants called cafes. Both offer a buffet breakfast only.

Guests need to use the breakfast voucher machines to purchase breakfast vouchers first before entering the cafe. No reservations are possible or necessary.

Can I have dinner at the Disney Celebration Hotel?

No, no other meal times such as lunch or dinner are available at the Disney Celebration Hotel Cafes.

The Disney Celebration Hotel Cafes only offer breakfast. Both Wish and Discover have small Konbini convenience stores which offer convenience meal choices which can be heated up for you. This can be an economical and satisfying way to dine in your room after a long Disney day, as the Wish and Discover hotel stores are open late, even after Disney Park closing times.
