With Disney Cruise Lines arrival in Australia there’s no doubt Australian families are rejoicing – but is there anything for kid-free adults to do onboard? It might surprise you to learn that there are plenty of adults-only activities and facilities on Disney Cruises too!

I was excited to be invited to join the inaugural welcome cruise on Disney Wonder on Sydney Harbour and took a close look at what Disney Adults can expect from a Disney Cruise!

Can adults go on Disney Cruises without kids?

Yes they can! Let’s face it – we’ve all grown up with and loved Walt Disney and his gorgeous stories and characters. Why wouldn’t you want to go and surround yourself with everything Disney on a cruise ship – even without children? Disney adults are everywhere from Disneyland to Disney World. Disney Cruise ships are no exception, and have a lot to offer their adult passengers.

What is there for adults on Disney Wonder?

Whether your travelling with or without kids, there’s lots for adults to enjoy onboard Disney Wonder. You’ll love trying all the Disney restaurants on a rotating schedule. We had a really fun meal at the Animator’s Palate during our Disney event tour.

We also got to see a really entertaining musical theatre show, Disney Dreams – An Enchanted Classic in the Walt Disney Theatre. There’s no doubt that the adults were enjoying the show very much.

Everyone has their favourite Disney Character, be it Mickey or Minnie Mouse – or perhaps a beautiful Princess! The roving Disney Characters offer the perfect opportunity to enjoy meet and greets and get that special photo.

Cruises are all about fun and pampering yourself, and Disney Cruises are no different. Disney Wonder offers the Senses Spa & Salon for spa treatments including massage, facials and salon services such as teeth whitening, manicures and pedicures, a hairdresser/barber and more.

Is there an adults-only swimming pool on Disney Cruise Ships?

On deck 9 of the Disney Wonder you’ll find the Quiet Cove adults-only area.This child-free area allows adults to relax in peace away from the noise and hubbub of kids.

Quiet Cove features the Quiet Cove swimming pool, two whirlpools and a sun deck, all offering a peaceful cruise retreat.

The adults-only Signals Bar can be found right next to the Quiet Cove pool, plus there’s also the indoor Cove Cafe, which in addition to coffee offers cocktails and nibbles in the evenings. Ah, the serenity!

Is there an adults-only restaurant on Disney Wonder?

Yes, there’s an adults-only restaurant onboard Disney Wonder. Palo is an extra-cost, Venetian-styled Italian restaurant offering modern cuisine and boasting a huge Wine List.

Palo adults-only restaurant is the perfect escape for more secluded or romantic child-free dining on board the Disney Wonder – bon apetit!

Can you get room service on a Disney Cruise?

Hungry but don’t feel like people-ing? That’s okay, because 24 hour room service is included in your Disney Cruise fare!

Is there alcohol on Disney Cruise Ships?

Yes you can drink alcohol on Disney Cruise Ships and even bring alcohol aboard with you.

There are plenty of bar and lounge options for an evening drink onboard all Disney Cruise Ships.

What age do you have to be to drink alcohol on Disney Cruise ships in Australia?

Adults aged 18 years and over sailing in Australian waters can drink alcohol onboard Disney Cruise ships without parental consent.

You will need to carry photo id (over 21 years of age in American seas).

You’ll find the official Disney alcohol age policy on their official website here.

What drinks do Disney Cruises charge for?

Drinks served from the bar and all alcoholic drinks including beer, wine and bottled water are charged to your cabin account.

Are there bars on Disney Wonder?

The Crown & Fin

Yes there are several bars on board. During our Disney Wonder ship tour we took a look around several of them.

Three main bars and a nightclub are located in the After Hours area on Deck 3. They are the Crown and Fin Pub, the Cadillac Lounge and the Azure nightclub.

The charming British-pub-styled Crown and Fin is a charming spot for a drink and a chat.

With it’s English red phone box at the entrance, games board tables and leather upholstered booths it certainly carries-off the cosy UK pub atmosphere!

Then there’s the Cadillac Lounge piano bar, and for a bit more nightlife you can always hit the dance floor of the Azure nightclub.

Outside of the After Hours area you’ll find the Signals Bar located next to the Quiet Cove adults only swimming pool.

In addition, located on Deck 3 is the Promenade Lounge, which is yet another children-free zone where adults can relax together over a quiet drink.

Solos, couples and groups of adults with or without children are welcome on board Disney Cruises.

Disney Cruises offer a surprising amount of adults-only and adult-class facilities without sacrificing any of that special Disney Magic!
