Sydney Opera House Junior Tour

Looking for something different to do with the kids these school holidays? Take them to the Opera House for a behind-the-scenes Junior Tour!

Opera House Junior Tour

We were lucky enough to be invited to try out the Opera House Junior Tour – what a great way to entertain and educate the kids during the school holidays!

Running for an hour, an enthusiastic and entertaining tour guide leads families through a fun adventure, exploring the ins-and-outs of the regal Sydney Opera House. Up and down stairs and passages, from small theatres – including the home of the amazing Bangara Dance group – right up to the majestic Concert Hall.

Great fun is had by all, including the parents, and an awful lot is learnt in the process. The kids get to view stages close up, ask questions, and even get to play dress-ups in a variety of stage costumes!

Our excellent tour guide Bruce wrangled the kids with ease and infectious enthusiasm – sparking their curiosity, captivating them with fascinating facts, and igniting the children’s interest in the theatre and arts culture.

At the end, certificates and badges are handed out to award each child with the qualification of “Junior Tour Guide Expert”. My two girls wore their Junior Expert badges with pride, and over a delicious lunch at the Opera Kitchen, chatted excitedly over how much they had enjoyed their Junior Tour.
