Disability Access Services
How do I buy a Shanghai Disneyland Disability pass?
You can buy a Shanghai Disneyland disability entrance ticket by contact the Shanghai Disney Resort Reservation Center or through the Shanghai Disneyland App, official website or WeChat Account.
How do I enter Shanghai Disneyland with my Disability ticket?
Upon arrival at the Shanghai Disneyland entrance produce your valid entrance ticket.
You may need to pass the “ID Query” page of “China Disabled Person’s Federation” WeChat Official Account to verify your disability at the Main Entrance and/or have your disability verification documents and also your passport to enter.
What happens if my disability documents aren’t acceptable at the entrance?
If for some reason your disability certificate or other documents are not found to be acceptable evidence of your disability you may pay the difference to obtain a standard entrance ticket so that you can still enter the park.
How do I register to get a Disability pass for Shanghai Disney Rides?
You need to register for a Disability Access Pass inside the park at the Customer Service Office immediately inside the Shanghai Disneyland entrance gates.
Make sure all members of your party who may wish to ride with you are present so they can also be noted as your ride group. You can have up to a total of six people including the disabled person accompanying you.
It takes around fifteen minutes to fill in the DAS application form and have your disability documents verified. You will then be issued with a Disability Access Services card to use.
How do I use a Disability card at Shanghai Disneyland?
The Disability card will allow you to spend your queueing time elsewhere than in the actual queue, so you will be able to sit, eat or spend time elsewhere than waiting in line for the ride you would like to ride. This DAS service is not regarded as a fast pass like a Tokyo Disney paid Premier Pass or the USA Genie+ pass, but a queue place holder.
Instead of producing your card at each ride like in the theme parks in Japan, you will need to go to a central Guest Services office for each ride area where they handle all of the rides for that area or world. There are several throughout the park.
At the Guest Services offices there are ride lists along with their current wait times displayed.
The attendant at Guest Services will fill in a line on your card for your chosen ride. The current listed queue wait time will be written down as your return time for that ride.
A barcoded ticket will also be enabled on your Shanghai Disney Resort app for the disabled person and all members of your party.
At the ride return time written on your card, go directly to that ride and show them your Disability card and you scan the app tickets to gain entry to the ride Priority Queue. There you can go to the head of the queue, bypassing the regular queue.
When you have completed that ride, return to the central office to register for a return time for another ride in that area – or you can move on to go to another office for another ride area.
Do I need all the members of our ride party to be with me when getting the ride card filled out?
No, the carer or companion of the disabled person can take the card and get the return ride on their own.
Where can I use the Disability Card to avoid waiting in the ride queue?
Your Disability Card will work for every ride queue with the exception of the large but constantly moving queue to get into the Zootopia area. It will work for the Zootopia ride inside the Zootopia world area.
What certificate or paperwork do I need to prove I am disabled?
There isn’t a great deal of information regarding what is acceptable proof of a disability other than an “official disability certificate issued by the relevant government”. Acceptable disabilities can include physical, developmental neurodiverse such as Autism (ASD) and ADHD, neurological, cognitive and mental disabilities.
As an Australian, our government NDIS & a supporting GP Doctor’s letter was accepted as proof for DAS at Shanghai Disneyland.
Any kind of carers card, companion card or pass with a photo would also be helpful.
Should I bring our passports to Shanghai Disneyland?
Yes, you will need your passport as a tourist in China to enter Shanghai Disneyland, regardless of your ticket-type.
Do I need to supply a Chinese translation of my disability certificate or medical letter?
No. We used English documents without a problem.
Can I still get Shanghai Disney Resort disabled ride access if I have already bought a standard ticket?
Yes. We had standard entrance tickets and could still obtain a Disability Access Service pass. You can add this to your standard park access ticket by registering for the Disability Access Service add-on at the Guest Services office inside the park near the entrance.
Can my family or group board with me when I’m using my Disability Access Service (DAS)?
Yes. Up to five other people can board the ride with you when using your DAS. Six people in total. You’ll need to have all their passes scanned with yours when entering the park with a disability ticket / registering for DAS.
Do Shanghai Disney Resort Cast Members speak English?
Not all cast members speak English, however guest services do, and cast members do have translation devices or access to them.
Where do I go at my ride queue return time?
You go to the ride Priority Lane – the same place you go to if you have a paid Fast Pass. Sometimes you will be moved through a special disability entrance.
What happens if I miss my return time or are running late?
Shanghai Disneyland appeared to be quite relaxed about return times as long as you arrive after the stated return time. You cannot enter any earlier.
