You know what time it is – it’s Sydney Christmas school holidays fun time! Grab the kids and go make some great memories together with this round-up of the latest theatre, events and movies!
Sure, we travel a lot during the year, but we love to stay close to Sydney around Christmas time whenever we can – because there is just so much fun stuff to do! Family theatre and shows, special events, the latest cinema smash hits…Sydney has it all!
We’ve recently previewed a whole bunch of Sydney family-friendly fun for you, and there’s some absolute rippers this year! So without further ado, and in no particular order – here are our favourite Sydney school holiday fun activities to do and see these 2022 – 2023 summer holidays…
1. Cinderella the Musical
Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella the musical is a such a wonderful treat to see, and it’s now playing in Sydney right through the Sydney school holidays until the 29th of January!
We loved our night at this simply stunning musical theatre performance. There’s plenty of pre-show fun to be had at Cinderella too.
Take your photo next to the beautiful full-sized Cinderella style carriage in the forecourt. Inside there’s gorgeous Cinderella merchandise on offer, snacks and drinks including a special Cinderella-themed pink slushies served inside Cinderella cups.
Lavish costumes, wonderful musical numbers and the ever-magical tale of Cinderella will have your whole family spellbound during the show.
Grab your friends, pop your little princess or prince into their finest Cinderella outfits and get along to the Lyric Theatre before the stroke of midnight to see this absolutely enchanting musical. Because glass slippers are so back!

2. – Lyle, Lyle Crocodile – the movie
We had such a fun time at the LYLE, LYLE, CROCODILE Sydney Movie Premiere!

3. Come From Away the musical
We were delighted to be invited to the opening night of Come From Away at the Theatre Royal Sydney.
This brilliant musical tells the incredible but true 9/11 story of a very special town in Canada.
There was so much talent and diversity onstage at Come From Away. We just loved this musical theatre show. The standing ovation nearly took the roof off, too – and that’s always a sign that this is a must-see theatre production.
Come From Away is now playing at the Theatre Royal Sydney until 29 January 2023.

4. – Puss In Boots – the movie
We headed along to see the special Australian Premiere of the much-anticipated DreamWorks movie PUSS IN BOOTS: THE LAST WISH in Sydney at the State Theatre.
The event was so festive. Santa even introduced the movie – along with Puss In Boots himself!
The Puss In Boots – The Last Wish movie is such hilariously good fun. It was exactly what we expected from everyone’s witty, swash-buckling pussy cat in knee-boots – we all loved it!
Go and see PUSS IN BOOTS: THE LAST WISH for yourself – it’s in cinemas from Boxing Day.

5. Australian Geographic Our Country
We were excited to attend the global premiere of Australian Geographic: Our Country Immersive Experience in Sydney.
It’s hard to describe and do this multi-sensory experience justice here – you really need to be in amongst it in person to see and feel all the incredible beauty and wonder that is – well, our country of Australia!
This is a simply amazing experience that sweeps through the senses with jaw dropping cinematography. It makes you want to tour the entirety of the Australian continent immediately!
